Its pitched-roof houses lie in idyllic surroundings, clustered at the edge of a forest of fir and black pine trees on the foothills of Mt Ziria. The solitary barbeque restaurant (Mouries) is just a 5-minute walk from the house, as is the only cafe (Bouras) on the small village square, and both are popular with locals and visitors alike. For more cosmopolitan offerings the nearby village of Trikala is just 11km away (30-minute drive) and is a popular tourist destination due to its setting on the slopes of Mt Kyllini and its proximity to Athens. Although the house is located in a mountain village, in Greece you’re never far from a coastline. Some excellent beaches can be found along the southern shores of the Gulf of Corinth, a distance of approximately 20km and once you hit the coastal road you’ll be spoilt for choice! This attractive stretch of coastline is flanked by awe-inspiring mountains and gorges. Its Eastern end culminates in the Corinth Canal, which separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland and is well-worth a visit. There is free parking on premises and a car is necessary to access the area and explore the surrounding sites of interest. Hot water is always available, but you need to use an electric water heater. For that, you have to go to the electricity board, which is located left to the bathroom's door, and find the relevant button. You switch it on by moving the button up. It needs approximately 20-30 minutes. Please remember to shut it down before using the water for security reasons. The oven is not working until further notice, but there is a stove available during your stay
