Fyning Granary and Shepherd's-Hut
Quirky farm building linked, via wooden decking, to a newly built shepherds-hut. Set within the grounds of a C16th Manor Farmhouse, there is easy parking, a tennis court and country walks directly from the door. The buildings are let together as one, they are calm and comfortable with raised sleeping areas so most suited to agile guests/families with older children. Rustic and rural space bordering working farmland with plenty of resident wildlife located within the South Downs National Park. Shepherds-Hut with one raised double bed and shower room, linked by wooden decking to the Granary with a double sofa bed, cloakroom and a mezzanine with two single mattresses. There is a steep set of stairs that access the mezzanine level which make it unsuitable for those with mobility problems, young children or sleep walkers! The kitchenette has a toaster, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, fridge and sink but NO OVEN. The decking area has a table and chairs for al fresco dining. There is a great selection of takeaways in the area as well as an abundance of good local pubs. Plenty of safe off road parking on gravel driveway. The Shepherds-Hut and Granary are across the lawn from the driveway. We are happy to answer any of your queries and want you to have a wonderful and comfortable stay, but we will leave you alone and respect your privacy. We have two dogs who might appear to greet you with a bark, they are both friendly. We don't allow for guest pets or children under 12 years. We have a hard tennis court which you are welcome to use, do let us know and please bring suitable shoes and rackets. We will provide a continental breakfast and are happy to accommodate any specific dietary requirements you may have, just let us know in advance. Rogate is located in the Southdowns National Park and has a thriving community. The village shop stocks a great range of produce and is a 5 minute stroll away, serving freshly baked croissants on Saturday mornings. There are two churches within walking distance, two farm shops, a cafe, numerous beautiful walks, seasonal car boot sale, glorious seasonal Lupin fields and the market towns of Midhurst, Petersfield and Petworth. Goodwood Racing and Cowdray Polo are also nearby, with Wittering beaches and Chichester Harbour some 30 mins drive. There is ample parking on the driveway, safe storage if you need it for your bikes and lots of maps and further information on walking and cycling routes available in the Granary. There is underfloor heating in the Shepherds-Hut and in the Granary there is an electric log burner and a radiator. Both the shower room and the cloakroom have heated towel rails.
