Private Cottage Annex in Listed Georgian Farmhouse

Chapel Farmhouse is a beautiful, listed Georgian house full of rustic charm! The annex (formerly a farm-worker's cottage) is a cosy, self-contained space attached to the main farmhouse. We're located in a peaceful, rural setting on the outskirts of the village of Oakhanger, within the grounds of a former cattle farm adjoining the South Downs National Park. There are wonderful walks from the door, a village pub within walking distance & a lovely tearoom (The Chocolate Frog) just across the road. Perfect for a short-term or longer stay, this cosy and self-contained annex is adjoined to the main farmhouse. There are two bedrooms (1 x king; 1 x double) with plenty of space for a toddler bed and cots if required. There is a small private bathroom with a bath and shower attachment (although please note the pressure of the shower attachment is not very strong). You have your own private entrance, kitchenette and sitting room with TV and wood burner. The kitchenette includes a sink, kettle, toaster, microwave, small hob and fridge. You have your own back door and a designated patio which backs onto a shared kitchen garden. We can provide a toddler bed, 2 x cots and bedding for children. We do not have stairgates and children will need to be supervised on the staircase at all times. Dogs can stay by arrangement but are not allowed upstairs. You have your own private hallway, kitchenette and sitting room (with woodstove) downstairs, and a staircase leading to a landing with two bedrooms and a private bathroom. You have your own front door and a back door which leads to your own patio and a (shared) garden. Areas which are not accessible to guests are locked and marked private. We have a small private courtyard for parking - there is ample space to park up to 4 guest vehicles. The cottage annex is attached to our family home and we are generally around during the day to answer any queries during your stay. There is a key lock box available for you to check yourself in and out. Check-in and check-out times have been revised to give us enough time to complete the additional cleaning and sanitising required to keep guests safe. Please contact us if you require some flexibility around these times (we would be happy to consider this if we have no adjacent bookings). Check-in: between 4pm - 8pm Check-out: by 10am Oakhanger is a great base for exploring the surrounding attractions e.g. Jane Austen’s house in Chawton, Gilbert White’s Centre in Selborne, the Hangers Way and the wonderful walking on the South Downs. We're also within 40 minutes of the Coast, Winchester, Basingstoke and many National Trust sites along the A3, such as RHS Garden Wisley, Hatchlands Park and the Devil’s Punch Bowl. Local stations include Alton, LIss & Petersfield (all c. 1 hr of London). We are less than 10 minutes from the A3 and an hour from Gatwick & Heathrow airports. We are a rural location so you should book any taxis in advance. We are in a rural location so it is very dark at night. You may also find that your mobile phone reception is limited or non existent. We have wifi in the house. The annex is completely private, but it is adjoined to the main farmhouse so you will hear us at times through the walls (we have two young children who do not always remember to use their "library voices" and a dog, although he rarely barks). We have free range chickens and a cockerel who crows! Please be aware that we’re restoring the farmhouse & adjacent outbuildings.
