Launceston Farmhouse with indoor swimming pool & sauna
Launceston Farmhouse is a grade II, georgian farmhouse at the heart of an organic working farm on the Dorset/Wiltshire border just two hours from London and within easy reach of the M3 and A303. Sarah, the owner and farmer, was born here and has transformed the Farmhouse into a chic, home from home with all the comforts you could possibly imagine. The Farmhouse is perfect for families and groups of friends a like. All bedrooms are spacious, airy and light. All are ensuite and three have a slipper bath to enjoy long soaks with views across the walled farmhouse gardens and surrounding Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are delights to discover in the gardens and play orchard as well as chickens pecking about and lambs grazing and quite often cows will be nosying up to the Ha-Ha at the end of the garden. When it rains, the indoor pool and sauna are yours between 7am-7pm. Well stocked with toys and kept at a consistently warm temperature, afternoons are well spent enjoying this amazing facility. Downstairs the Farmhouse has a large sitting room with an open fire, TV, DVD player and Wii Console. The traditional farmhouse kitchen with Aga is a lovely place for a family breakfast whilst the dining room is perfect for special meals and celebrations. Bifold doors open out onto the sun terrace and walled gardens. Upstairs the three lavish en suite bedrooms have views of the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and walled gardens. In the Farmhouse gardens you will find hammocks to lounge in (spring and summer) and plenty of play equipment as well as a toddler play area with sandpit, playhouse and mud kitchen and two tree swings. The Orchard is great for den building and hide and seek in the willow tipi. If you don't fancy cooking, farmhouse suppers or farm-sourced cooked breakfasts can be delivered to the door by cordon bleu trained chef and owner, Sarah (48 hours notice). The traditional country pub in the village, a five minute walk from the farm, serves up an excellent menu of locally sourced dishes along with all the pub favourites. It has an excellent garden and play area for children. Take a trip to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast for a paddle in the ocean and the catch of the day.
