Classy, Comfy, Spacious Country Retreat for Four
Lovingly renovated by my husband and I, the property sits perfectly within its rural surroundings and exudes the class of a new-build while simultaneously retaining the Edwardian charm of the original barn. Located off a private lane in a charming village on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands, the property is just a short drive from the Alton Towers resort, the Derbyshire Peak District and the historic county town of Stafford. Comfortable and cosy in the winter, light and airy in the summer, this one bedroom detached barn conversion is a haven for all seasons. Sleeping four adults, the property benefits from the following: Sitting Room - tastefully decorated with two leather electric recliner sofas and a double sofa bed. The room benefits from a panoramic fireplace and electric fire, with TV above. Netflix, terrestrial and Sky channels are available. Kitchen - Newly designed and fitted, the kitchen has lots of cupboard and drawer space, containing everything needed to produce and serve a full meal. Integral appliances include: fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven, hob (with extractor) and microwave. The Breakfast Station includes a toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine and complementary hot drinks and biscuits. There is also a spacious dining area complete with an oak table and four leather dining chairs. Please note that the extractor fan will always appear to have a sheen upon it. This is because we protect it with baby oil - it being stainless steel. The Bedroom - A stunning room with a high, beamed ceiling, picture window and roof lights (there are solar powered Velux blinds installed if you prefer to sleep in total darkness - controls can be found on the wall behind the bedroom door). Occupants of this room will find there is a sumptuous double bed, bedside tables, a dressing table, stool, chest of drawers and a smart TV provided for them. And if you’re looking to snuggle down in front of the tv, wrapped in a blanket - you’ll find some fleece covers in the divan. En Suite Bathroom - The bedroom benefits from an en suite bathroom with a free-standing bath, sink, toilet and separate shower. Dressing Room -Bring as many clothes as you wish as we have a dressing room ready and waiting for you. There is also a portable fan, laundry basket, hair dryer, sewing kit, spare pillows, towels, bedding and cushions for the patio furniture. Cloakroom - Complete with sink, toilet and a utility cupboard containing an automatic washer and a condenser dryer. Front and Real Hallways Small private country garden with seating for four. Parking. Don't worry if you forget anything as we've probably got you covered. For your convenience we have left you the following: an iron, ironing board, toiletries, a hair dryer, towels, toilet tissue, kitchen roll and tea towels. Welcome breakfast food hamper included along with some store cupboard items. You will have the entire annexe property to yourself. There is also a cottage garden and a patio with dining set for your sole use. A parking space is also available to use. Please do not park by the main house. Always available either in person or by text or phone call. Whichever you prefer. Mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, Caverswall is rich in rural charm and history and is a superb location from which to explore Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire. Set around a village square with its ancient tree and stocks at the centre, the quaint and quirky period properties will soon have you entranced. The village itself benefits from two wonderful pubs, both very different and both providing hot food. The Red House is situated in the village square, which is the social hub of the village. People gather around here for the Carsa Wakes festival during the summer, Halloween celebrations in the Autumn, Egg hunts in the Spring and Christmas carols in the Winter. Look out also for Murder Mystery events at the Red House, provided by our local drama group, Caversmill Players. The Auctioneers Arms is the pride of the village, having been purchased by its residents and run as a community concern. Pop in during the day for a coffee, lunch or a beer and take a look also at their evening menu. Both pubs are within easy walking distance of our property. The Red House takes around three minutes on foot and The Auctioneers Arms, about fifteen. Did we mention that the village has a castle? It's owned by the entrepreneur, Robin MacDonald and is a Grade 1 listed property. Not currently open to the public although if you see the owner and ask nicely, you may be invited in... The village is also home to the historic Anglican church of St Peters and the newer, Roman Catholic edifice, St Filumena's. For those who love gardening, the village has beautifully designed community garden that is always open to the general public. There is a village shop and Post Office just ten minutes walk from our property and the nearest supermarket is less than a five minute drive away. Other facilities and places of interest within walking distance are as follow: Heath House Farm, Shop and Tea Rooms, Foxfield Steam Railway, Butchers, Indian Restaurant, Oatcake shop, florist, hairdresser, off licence, sandwich shop, fish and chip shop. The nearest train station is Blythe Bridge, which is 0.8 miles away.
