Yurt with beautiful views in rural location

We are nestled in the beautiful rolling countryside just between the city of Castelo Branco & Fundao. This beautiful yurt is situated right on the edge of our land. In a lovely peaceful space between the trees, with a view to the Gardunha mountain. We offer a double bed, small kitchenette with gas cooker, compost toilet, shower & wood for the log burner in colder months. Camping space next to yurt available for extra guests, tent can be provided for a small fee. Discounts for weekly bookings. We are a small farm (3.6 hectares) and keep a number of different animals, goats, chickens, ducks & cats. That being said, the yurt is far away from all the animals in a peaceful spot on our rural property. You can relax outside in comfortable loungers and watch the sun set over the Gardunha mountains, and then move inside the yurt besides the cosy log burner - if it drops cold! If you wanted to explore our small farm and meet the animals, you can do so at your leisure! We are usually around the farm, with the animals or at our house if needed. Straight out of the yurt door you can walk in the Portuguese countryside for hours and hours, down all the rural tracks that lead to other villages. In our village of Orca there are 3 cafes and a public swimming pool, which is around a 20 minute walk, or 5 minutes driving. The beautiful village of Monsanto is about 40 minutes by car, which was voted the "most Portuguese village in Portugal". Also there are various lakes and river beaches all within an hours driving that we could direct you to. The Serra da Estrela Natural Park is under 2 hours away, which even offers skiing! (When there is snow!) We are surrounded by nature and see some incredible wildlife here on the farm. From wild boar to mongoose, woodpeckers and cuckoo. Storks make there nests a short distance away and are a lovely sight to see at the right time of year. The town of Fundao is a 30 minute drive with a fantastic market every Monday morning 9am - 1pm, with fresh vegetables, produce, clothes and souvenirs. It is better to have your own vehicle for getting around, you can park right next to the yurt, access is down a track but possible in all vehicles. This is fancy camping! So please be aware of the following: There is no wifi at the yurt, although there is a strong phone reception. (If wifi is needed you can use it by our house.) Yurt lights are powered by solar power, there is a 12volt socket with USB port to charge phones/devices in the day time. (Please note there are no actual plug sockets, larger devices can be charged in our house if needed.) All our power (yurt & house) comes from the sun so items like hairdryers, and other high wattage items cannot be used here.
