The Romantic Vrångö island escape is a high standard, open plan cabin on a secluded hillside corner of our property. Your private terrace and HOT TUB is one step out the wide glass doors. Enjoy breakfast or a relaxing bath surrounded by the wonderful nature. The terrace literally ends where the Nature preserve of Vrångö starts. Designed with a slow pace in mind, our hope is that you will relax and enjoy the beauty of the outside archipelago nature, through all seasons of the year. *** A first morning BREAKFAST PACKAGE is provided upon request, for a charge of 150 SEK per person (see photo) *** The breakfast package will be ready for you in the cabin when checking in. It includes: - Orange juice - Natural yoghurt - Flakes / granola - Ham, cheese and vegetables - Butter - Marmelade - Chrispbread and bread rolls - Eggs, hard-boiled or raw if you prefer to boil them yourself. - Caviar - Coffee/tea and milk (standard items in the cabin) About the cabin: Our romantic cabin is situated on Vrångö, the southernmost inhabited island of Gothenburg's Southern Archipelago. Originally built in the 1920's, the cabin is among the oldest buildings of the island. In order to preserve and make it a high standard year-around living, we have recently renovated the cabin. Yet kept its characteristic shape which can be found on a few more old cabins on the island. The cabin offers high comfort such as floor heating, well equipped modern kitchen with fridge, freezing compartment, convection oven, microwave oven, induction cooktop, cooking devices and basics such as salt, pepper, olive oil, coffé, tea, coffe milk and chocolat mixing powder. Sleep comfortably in a King Size bed (180 cm wide, 200 cm long), placed In the center of the open plan and bright room, with good lights for reading, as well as a dimmable led light behind the headboard. Enjoy a movie, from the bed or the seated at the table, on the 32 inch rotatable TV. A Chromescast device is available for you to stream your choice of media from your own device to the TV. A strong 250 Mbit Wifi is available in the cabin. There are generous windows in each direction of the cabin and these can be completely covered by the blackout curtains, or just screened using the translucent bright curtains. Wake up to a new day, don't hurry getting dressed, use the bathrobes and slippers provided. Let the sun in through the wide glass doors and take a step out to your private terrace which accommodates your private HOT TUB with jets, gas grill (with grill tongs), Nordic designed deckchairs, parasol and a small table with chairs. (Grill and outdoor furnitures available from mid april until end of September). The HOT TUB is heated to approx. 38 degrees Celsius as a standard and a simple step-by-step guide to operate it is provided in the cabin. As a guest, you have complete and private access to the cabin, the terrace and the HOT TUB. A good recommendation is to climb the hill behind the cabin to enjoy the open ocean sunset or simply to get a great view of the surroundings and the sea. We are happy to share things to see and do during your stay on the island and in the archipelago. Since we are often home and around we are flexible to assist you with any questions. Welcome to a place famous and appreciated for its rich and protected nature. A picturesque archipelago environment, including old harbourside fishing huts and the preserved old pilot house "Lotsutkiken", a memorable landmark for Vrångö, overlooking the island and sorrounding sea from its lookout point. Most of the island is covered by protected nature, which makes it unique in the sense that within pretty much 1 hour from central Gothenburg, you can experience a peaceful and genuine archipelago atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere whitin such a short travel from Gothenburg. Only 30 minutes ferry ride from Saltholmen's ferry location. You reach the island with the same public transport and ticket that is in the center of Gothenburg, by bus or tram between 20 and 30 minutes to Saltholmen. No cars are allowed on Vrångö, except a few service vehicles, so all you really need is a pair of comfortable shoes. The cabin is located 800 meters from the ferry drop off. From there ferries serve hourly. Somewhat less frequently on weekends. In summertime (June to August) the ferries run more frequently and some run straight to Saltholmen (main land). The residential area of the island stretches lilke a belt across the middle of the island. Walk the narrow and pretty streets of the old part of Vrångö, located near the fishing harbour, which is also worth a visit. The grocery store is in the outer part of the harbour, open year around. A café with meals and sweets is located where the ferry arrives. Opening hours vary before/after and during summer season. Hamnkrogen Lotsen is a Seafood Pub located in the harbour, offering seafood and more. You can also buy fresh shrimps, crayfish and smoked mackerel from Fiskeboa (the "Fish Shed"), next to the Pub. Try the local and delicate "Vrångö-röra" (a locally made shrimp salad/mayonnaise. The best way to discover the nature of Vrångö is to walk the trails - one trail circling arpund the southern part and two connected trails reaching around the north part of the island. ***COVID-19 INFORMATION*** We follow Airbnb's extended cleaning routine, which was developed with expert guidance. This includes: We clean surfaces that are touched often, down to the smallest door handle We use cleaning products, disinfectants and protective equipment such as disposable gloves to prevent cross-contamination. We clean each room using checklists We provide extra cleaning equipment, so you can clean during your stay We follow the guidelines and recommendations given by Swedish Authorities, including any additional guidelines for safety or cleaning. We are happy to greet you upon arrival but we will keep a distance. You may check in by your own using a door code which will be sent to you upon your arrival. Please note: In order to get to the cabin, which is located in our property, you have to walk through our garden and passed our house. Vrångö has one grocery store which serves all year around, however you should pay attention to the opening hours which are limited off season. The normal opening hours are Mon-Fri 9.30 A - 6 P, Sat 9.30 A - 2 P, Sun 9.30 A - 11 A.
