This lovely property, converted from an old cow shed to a shabby chic gite, is in a pretty region enjoying 2250 hours of sunshine per year making it the second sunniest in france. 'La Vieille Etable' is set in a private secluded garden with its own private pool surrounded by farmland. If you want to see a million stars at night with no light pollution, if you want peace and tranquility in a gite that has everything for a relaxing holiday, a private 6m pool and garden area to eat in, but with many places to visit within easy reach, then this is for you. Not just home from home but a truly French experiance. The gite includes main bedroom with king size bed, second bedroom with two single beds and a tiny single room ( suitable for a child ) and there is a cot available if needed, Family bathroom with shower and heated towel rail. The open plan living accommodation includes a well equipped kitchen, sitting, dining area with wood burning stove flatscreen tv ( Freeview UK channels) DVD, CD player, free Wi-Fi. The pool decking area has a shady gazebo with comfy chairs and sun loungers, the area leading through the french doors to the large garden has a barbecue and a separate seating area for both summer lunches and to enjoy the stunning sunsets. The gite is two kilometres from a village with a bar/restuarant and boulangerie for your morning croissants and bread and ten minutes drive from two bigger market towns with shops and restaurants. Within 30mins drive are the historic towns of Niort, Parthenay and Fontenay Le Comte, a lake with beach and water activities and another lake for canoeing and kayaking, and for days out La Rochelle, Puy de Fou, Venise Verte for punting on the canals and cycling etc, Ile De Re and many more places of interest for all ages. A free welcome hamper is provided, and home cooked meals are available on your arrival or after a long day out at very reasonable prices ( 24 hours notice is required). 5% discount is offered for bookings of two weeks with two service washes included. There are lots of games, books DVD's and toys plus high chair (if required. ) Linen, towels and beach towels are all provided. The friendly owners live on site and are available to offer advice and assistance if required.
