The Cabin is set within the grounds of the cottage, up on a hill overlooking the beautiful Norfolk countryside. The Cabin is self contained; 2 single beds or can be a Superking. En-suite has shower, wc and basin; a loo with a view. There is a kitchen worktop and cupboards within the main room, a fridge, kettle, toaster, a table and chairs. There is internet although it’s not fast, there is a Amazon Echo supplied. Gas barbecue available, lovely seating area outside with panoramic views. Situated on an elevated south facing hill, enveloped to the rear by ancient woodland, it is a joy to behold. Lots of wildlife, hopefully you will see deer and lots of bird life, the dawn chorus is something to behold. It is on a working farm, so there can be farm traffic but generally very quiet. The night silence is only broken by the occasional owl hoot or deer bark. Located approximately 1km up a farm track, the Cabin is virtually a stones throw from the Castle Acre circular walk; approx 6.5 miles in total. Castle Acre is 2 miles away. Guests will have freedom to roam, sit, relax anywhere within the property. I live in the cottage approximately 12 metres from the Cabin although the two locations are divided by a fence & gate to allow privacy. It’s very rural, so expect some woodland insects, flies and bugs. Castle Acre is a 20/25 minute walk along the circular trail or 5 minute drive. It is a very popular village with village shop, tea room, The Priory ruins and the lovely Ostrich Inn - which although currently closed is due to re-open soon - please check if wishing to eat there, The George & Dragon pub is 3 miles away which is also very nice. Swaffham is the nearest market town, it is a ten minute drive, there is a Waitrose & Tesco’s supermarket. The Castle Acre circular walk is very popular. The walk crosses the Nar valley, through woodland and along the meandering river Nar. There are many attractions to see in Norfolk, Houghton Hall, Holkham, Sandringham are within a 30 - 40 min drive. The Norfolk coast has many great places to eat out.
