The cottage has its own private entrance and is adjacent to the main house where I live. The cottage is a studio layout containing a lounge and dining area and sleeping space. There is a separate bathroom with a bath, toilet and basin and a separate compact kitchenette equipped with a convection oven and cooker, a microwave, a kettle and toaster plus a bar fridge. Start your day with Nespresso coffee and rusks on the lawn looking out to sea! In the courtyard is our rustic outdoor shower, open to the stars, and very popular with our guests! There is a sea view from the cottage and the wonderful sound of the sea surrounds you. Enjoy the fynbos garden in front of the cottage with comfortable garden chairs. A weber for barbeques is available for your use. At the back of the main house you are welcome to make use of the lovely sunny and windproof verandah with glorious views of the mountains. I live on the property and am available to guests. Within easy reach of Nature's Valley there are choices of canyoning and kloofing; day safaris; whale and dolphin watching ; canopy tours and more. Monkeyland; elephant sanctuary, snake park; wolf sanctuary and more are all close by. We provide brochures of most activities in the area. There are a number of fine wine farms and restaurants in the Crags area who offer wine tasting plus delicious meals. So whether you are looking for a tranquil and restorative break or an active holiday you can find it all here. The small village of Nature’s Valley forms part of the Tsitsikamma National Park.as well as the De Vasselot Nature Reserve. It is unique in being the only residential land within a National Park in South Africa. The mountains are densely overgrown, with forests and deep ravines. It is also the end of the Otter Trail one of South Africa’s flagship hikes that navigates 42 kilometres of craggy coastline from Storms River before ending here. For bird watchers De Vasselot is very special as they can watch birds that frequent the marsh enjoying their natural habitat. There is a wide variety of wildlife, fauna and flora and people come from all over the world to study the rich diversity here. Nature’s Valley has only one shop, no banks and definitely no shopping malls. There are scenic walks and hikes in the area through rainforest, along cliffs and through dry river beds, sometimes allowing you a birds-eye-view of the whales and dolphins in the water below or hire a canoe and explore the lagoon and the many mysterious creeks that branch off it. Or simply enjoy relaxing on the beach. There is a wonderful varied bird life - including the gloriously coloured Knysna Loerie. A family of Bushbuck roam freely and without fear. There are wild Boar - seldom seen as they forage at night - but their snorting can be heard! There are leopards in the mountains, very rarely seen, but much to our excitement two cubs were recently seen playing on the pass. Also be prepared for many inects around. We do live in the wild! The glorious beach stretches for kilometers with waves rolling in and breaking endlessly The tranquil lagoon is a wonderful place, particularly perfect for young children. Most of all there is a feeling of peaceful solitude and quiet seclusion. You will need a car to get around. It is a 2 minute walk down to the beach and a longer walk or drive to the lagoon.
