Summerhouse Farm, Melbourn

Summerhouse Farm is located 10 miles south of Cambridge on the outskirts of Melbourn village and has been in the Wedd family since 1921. Our self-catering accommodation is a new venture that lends its self to the abundance of local attractions, such as the Duxford Imperial War Museum, the National Trust stately home Wimpole Hall and the historic University City of Cambridge. Our bungalow is a semi-detached newly renovated modern 1 bedroom property that boasts stunning views of the countryside. The layout comprises of a spacious king-size double bedroom, a spacious bathroom with large shower. There is an open plan lounge diner, a modern kitchen complete with hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, cooking utensils, dinnerware and tea and coffee making facilities as well as a breakfast bar. There is also a washer dryer for longer stays. Outside the property has its own patio and seating area and large secure bike store should you wish to bring your bicycles. No 2 The Bungalow has its own entrance and a dedicated off-road parking in the car park opposite. Check in from 3pm, Check Out 10am. Guests can use the self-check-in box allowing flexibility for arrival times. There is lockbox for self check in and checkout for flexibility of both parties. Please use the messaging service should you require assistance during your stay. I live in the main farm house and am happy to meet with guests if they would like a meet and greet. Melbourn is a super village with an abundance of amenities, we have a handy coop and premier store for any essential shopping, a fish & chip shop and Chinese take away for quiet nights in and a fine dining restaurant 'The Sheene Mill' for a more romantic evening treat. If you fancy some pampering opposite the Sheene Mill is Esse Retail, this unique boutique also offering spa & beauty treatments if you need some relaxation and pampering. Summerhouse Farm is located just off the A505 at Melbourn, the A505 has strong links to the M11 & A1 depending on your direction of travel. The use of a car or bike is essential as we are located about a mile from the centre of the village of Melbourn and the closest railway station is in the neighbouring village of Meldreth. Summerhouse Farm is and working arable farm and home to a number of commercial businesses including a large caravan storage storage site so depending on the time of year there can be an increase in traffic and seasonal arable machinery.
