Teepee for couples, families or groups of friends and openminded colleagues - for adventurous souls in general :) Location: cute little village 2km from Prague with possibilities to go for trips...(we reccommend to see Celtic oppidum!) FREE parking and Wi-Fi! • About the TEEPEE You will have private access to the Teepee (and the Teepee itself is situated in our garden). Please note that there is no lock on the Tepee :) It is furnished with 3 double beds/mattresses and fireplace and wood for the fireplace is available on site. Toilet (latrine - dry toilet) stands separately in the garden and open space bathroom is available in the garden too. • About our interaction I will welcome you at your arrival. Me and my husband are staying in the house just next to the teepee, so we'll be close by to give you a helping hand if you need it. And for sure I will prepare you a good breakfast, if you want. • About Dolní Břežany village The name Břežany indicates a village lying on the banks of a creek or on top of a hill, because the word has two etymological meanings: hill or bank. Dolní Břežany (“Lower Břežany”) is located in central Bohemia in the county of Prague-West. The town is spread over an area of 1,066 hectares and also incorporates the villages of Lhota, Zálepy and Jarov. In recent years, Zálepy and Jarov have changed from primarily recreational areas with weekend cottages into places where people live year-round. Dolní Břežany borders Prague, but is also a natural center for other municipalities located above the Vltava River valley: Ohrobec, Točná, Zlatníky, Hodkovice and Libeň, and partially also Zvole, Březová, Oleško, and Cholupice. ‣ PARKING is possible free of charge, so hop on your motorcycle/car/caravan, visit us and have some unusual adventure... ‣ BUS: No. 333 from Prague - Kačerov metro station (C-red line) • SIGHTS Závist hillfort and Celtic oppidum The important archeological site known as Hradiště nad Závistí is located within Dolní Břežany’s town limits, and an educational “Celtic trail” leads to the oppidum. The promontory above the confluence of Břežanský Creek and the Vltava River was settled as early as during the Stone Age. At the start of the La Tène Period around 500 BCE, a Celtic oppidum was founded at this site. Measuring 170 hectares in size, it is the largest in today’s Czech Republic. Its fortifications were 9 km long and enclosed the peaks of Hradiště and Šance, which are separated by the deep valley of Břežanský Creek. Hradiště was the site of busy artisan and trading activities. The oppidum’s heyday came to an end with the arrival of Germanic tribes during the 1st century CE. The Archaeological Preservation Institute of Central Bohemia has been working with the town of Dolní Břežany to prepare the project “Závist and Surroundings”, which includes an information center and permanent exhibition in Dolní Břežany that will provide information on the region’s history from the Neolithic Era to the present day on the basis of archeological finds. The project includes the construction of an educational trail from Dolní Břežany to Závist, as well as the reconstruction of fortifications, buildings in the outer ward and selected features within the hillfort itself.
