This idyllic cottage sleeps up to four (one double room, one twin room) and is surrounded by trees, overlooking a delightful stream and historic 12th century church. Wood burning stove with logs. The cottage has recently been renovated with a high quality finish, and offers an idyllic setting for families, business travellers or groups of friends looking to get away. Ground Floor: Enjoy the living room with log burning stove, DVD and music player (a selection of DVDs are included to use during your stay) and high speed broadband. Additionally on the ground floor, you'll find the dining room and kitchen, with free welcome hamper awaiting your arrival. The kitchen stable doors open onto a patio overlooking a small countryside stream and a green grass area with kids playground is located a few yards away. Upstairs: Upstairs you'll find the bathroom and two comfortable bedrooms - one with kingsize bed and the other with twin bunks. All mattresses are superior quality for a great nights sleep! If needed, a baby travel cot and additional blowup mattress can be provided free of charge, thereby sleeping up to 5 plus one child. Outside: We have a patio and summerhouse overlooking the street and nature. Please be aware that children must be supervised in this area owing to a he dangers of running water All included within the booking price: - Free parking (up to 2 cars, right outside the front door) - Wifi - DVD player (with DVDs to use) - Music centre (including a selection of CDS) - Various mobile phone/iPod chargers to borrow during your stay - Electric adapters (international to UK) to use during your stay Kitchen: fully kitted out and ready to use. Bathroom: free toiletries and use of towels. DOGS. We are dog lovers but ask that you mention prior to booking if you wish to fetch a dog or any other animal. An additional charge of £30 should you wish you fetch up to 2 pets. This is paid directly to us. Private lawn must not to be used to toilet dogs. Pets are not allowed on furniture or in bedrooms. Easy to get to all key locations around and about. The cottage is in the heart of the world famous seaglass beaches. A short drive can have you at Seaham’s fruitful multi glass beach, or to the generous “secret beaches”. St Cuthbert’s cottage is perfectly situated for seeing the main attractions of the North East. We are 1.5 miles from the train station in Seaham Harbour, 15 minutes drive from Durham city centre, 10 minutes drive from Sunderland city and 20 minutes from Newcastle. The cottage is located close to the East Durham Heritage trail. The beach is just 2 miles away, or if you prefer, take a walk in the surrounding countryside instead. We 0.75 miles from the A19 and 8 miles from the A1. Key supermarkets and a retail park within a 2 mile radius also. Previous guests have comment on the cottage. We have just returned from a lovely weekend at St Cuthberts Cottage.This review is like all the others,nothing to add.Wonderful property,wonderful hosts.We had a great time and will be back.Thank you Mick and Jules.
