The property is surrounded by an attractive hand built Cotswold stone wall and four pretty box ball trees frame the main entrance and large bay window. It benefits from off road parking for 2 cars on the private driveway, complete with sensor lights to welcome you. The locked garage can also be used to store bikes/buggy/prams etc with electric socket. As you enter the welcoming entrance hall you will find the cottage light and airy, decorated and furnished in calm, neutral colours throughout. It is fully equipped to allow you to enjoy your holiday in the Cotswolds with all that you need whether you are travelling as a family with children or enjoying time away together with friends. Relaxing - In the bright lounge, take a seat and relax in the armchair placed in the large bay window, making the most of the sunny aspect of this room where you can relax and watch Sky TV on the new 42” Smart TV. You can also watch Netflix using your account login. Sink into the comfortable sofas and take a look through our comprehensive visitor’s guide to help you plan your next day out or listen to your favourite radio station or music on the Amazon Echo bluetooth speaker. Alternatively, you will find a large selection of adult’s and children’s books and a cupboard with plenty of board games, toys and jigsaws to keep everyone entertained on rainy days. Dining - The modern and contemporary kitchen diner is bright and airy and is exceptionally well equipped with all new Bosch appliances which include a dishwasher, electric oven, induction hob, fridge freezer, washing machine and also a kettle, toaster and microwave. A separate tumble dryer is also available in the downstairs utility cupboard. The stylish table and chairs seat up to 6 guests and from here the wide French doors open out onto the sunny enclosed garden with outside seating to relax on at the end of the day. Children are very well catered for as a high chair and travel cot (with sheet) are available free of charge in addition to plastic plates, cups, bowls and cutlery. In the kitchen you will find tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, dish washer tabs, clothes washing capsules and basic cupboard items such as ketchup, vinegar, salt and pepper, cooking oil, bin bags, foil, cling film, dishcloth, washing up liquid, kitchen roll etc all provided for your stay. Also on the ground floor is a fresh and modern WC with storage for both coats and shoes and a utility cupboard with tumble dryer, ironing board and iron, children's stool/step, hand held Dyson vacuum cleaner and other essentials. Sleeping - The first floor accommodation comprises of 3 double bedrooms all with brand new, comfortable, deep mattresses with fresh, white bedlinen which will allow you to relax and unwind, ready for your next day of sightseeing in this beautiful part of the country. A hand towel and large bath sheet are provided for each guest. Bedroom 1 - an elegant Master bedroom with Kingsize bed, large fitted wardrobe with laptop sized safe and hairdryer, modern ensuite bathroom with spacious shower cubicle. Bedroom 2 - a luxurious Kingsize bed, free standing wardrobe with movement activated lighting when doors are opened, full length mirror, hairdryer and modern bedside tables. Bedroom 3 - can be set up to your specific needs either as a twin with two single 2ft 6 beds or as one Kingsize bed, black out blind, full length mirror and free standing wardrobe also with movement activated lighting. In addition to the master en-suite, there is a stylish family bathroom with bath and shower attachment. To the rear of the property is a private drive allowing off road parking for 2 cars and a garage for secure storage for bikes, with rear access to the garden. A five-minute walk will take you to the near-by supermarket and then a short walk from there will bring you right into the centre of Bourton on the Water where you will be spoilt for choice with all the sights to see (without the need to locate a parking spot!). Choose from The Miniature Village, the Motoring Museum, Birdland, the Butterfly Maze, the recently opened Greystones Park Nature Reserve or stop at one of the many coffee houses for an afternoon tea and cakes to take in the beautiful views of the river running under the pretty bridges that Bourton is so famous for (and maybe even feed the ducks!) Within a short drive from Skylark Cottage, you will find plenty of beautiful and fun days out and attractions to visit and the most picturesque, beautiful villages nearby to your base. There are several attractive National Trust properties and other historic buildings nearby, including the historic Sudeley Castle and the very scenic Blenheim Palace. Families may also wish to visit The Cotswold Wildlife Safari Park and Gardens, Adam Henson’s Farm Park or the Cotswold Water Park all of which are only a short drive away from Skylark Cottage. For those that enjoy walking, the Monarch’s Way footpath which is based on the route taken by King Charles II in 1651, runs straight through Bourton-on-the-Water, part of the Oxfordshire Way can also be joined, or the shorter Windrush Way begins in Winchcombe and follows the near-by Windrush Valley to end back in Bourton. Enjoy visiting the famous Cotswold honey coloured stone villages and towns around Bourton-on-the-Water such Burford, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Lower Slaughter, Cirencester, Broadway, Moreton-on-the-Marsh or Bibury where you can feed the fish in the river as it passes by the famous Arlington Row, all of which are within easy reach of this lovely holiday home.
