apartment Farmhouse " the Zandhoeve"

Until April 1, we close our beautiful apartment. We are going to build a studio house in the yard and do not want to burden guests with construction activities. We look forward to welcoming you again from April 1. Our apartment is located along the Kapitteldijk the N840 in the middle of the Ooijpolder near Nijmegen. In the renovated hay loft "the loft" of our farm, we have a spacious apartment of 170m2 available for anyone who wants peace and quietnes. The apartment You enter the apartment through your own entrance in a spacious hall. There you can store your bicycles, your walking shoes, your rain gear, your jacket or your nice walking boots. The stairs lead you to a small hall with the bathroom and toilet. Then you step into the spacious and bright apartment. In the loft you will find everything you need to spend a wonderful relaxing time. There is a luxury kitchen with quooker, dishwasher, large fridge and combi oven. The dining area has space for 4 people. There are also two bedrooms. You can relax in the spacious seating area with a view of the greenery, relax chairs and a colorful seating area. Everywhere you look you can see elements of art or old objects that we found in and around the farm. Of course there are walking and cycling routes and tips of interesting things to see in the vicinity. And if you want to stay indoors for a day, there are plenty of magazines, books and games to keep you entertained. In the yard there is space to park also for 2 cars. Part of the yard is under development, such as the creation of inner gardens and the preparation of a future-proof studio home. Outside there is a private place in the nature reserve for you as guests from which you look out over a herb-rich grassland that we are developing. The farm was renovated in 2020 with natural materials such as insulation with flax and wood. We heat the farm and the loft with heat pumps and obtain a large part of our energy from solar cells. We, Frank Saris and Ria van Pelt, have embarked on the adventure in 2020 to develop both the neglected farm and the neglected Natura 2000 area, together with the Ark Foundation. We are working daily to bring a robust ecological future in and around the farm and the wetland area. The farm is located on the Pieterpad and a cycle path from which you can discover the Ooijpolder and the Rijk van Nijmegen. We are happy to receive you. The farm is easily accessible by public transport. The bus stop is a 3 minute walk. Parking is available in the yard. Our farm ( located on the acces road from the Ooijpolder) and the surrounding land are part of the Natura 2000 area that we are developing together with the Ark foundation in the Ooijpolder. The Ooijpolder is unique for its nature, the proximity of the moraine, the forests, the Waal and the oldest city in the Netherlands; Nijmegen. You can already see Germany from the window with the beautiful old small town of Kranenburg and the historic Kleve nearby. If you want delicious food under the clatter of the Ooijevaars, the Thornse Molen is nearby. Ear gates with its beautiful terrace located on the Bison Bay you can hardly miss. Wandering in the tea garden of the Millingerwaard is a unique experience. You can do your shopping in the village of Leuth. But there is also a large supermarket in Beek. Walking and cycling, with the wind in your hair is wonderful.
