You can spend the night and relax in pleasant and comfortable rooms. There are twelve rooms available. You can choose between eight double rooms and four single rooms, half of them have a balcony. The rooms have a satellite TV, free wireless internet connection and a bathroom with a shower. We serve breakfast for our guests for 5€ per person. Following a prior order, we also prepare lunches or dinner with traditional dishes of our local cuisine. In our wine shop, we serve selected wines from local winemakers. The estate and the straw-covered house in Dragatuš were given to Oton’s mother as a dowry. She and her husband opened a shop and an inn. But the times were hard and the business was not booming; that’s why, they sold the homestead after twelve years and went to look for fortune in Ljubljana with their children – 14-year-old Oton, 11-year-old Otokar and 6-year-old Marica. There are fully stocked shelves and friendly employees waiting for you. You can set out on foot through the trails of the natural and cultural heritage of Bela Krajina. You can choose one of the twenty-five arranged and marked hiking trails of various difficulties that lead round the diverse karstic region, through forests, across meadows and fern areas, among the wine-growing hills and hospitable vineyard cottages; trails that climb one of the small peaks, that unfolds a gorgeous view, or take you along the Kolpa River. The Župančič Trail (13 km) starts in Dragatuš. The trail connects the town with Vinica, the poet’s birth village. It leads through the Regional Park Lahinja, where you will enjoy the natural beauties to the full and get to know the rich cultural heritage. Also near is the castle forest educational trail (6 km), which is circularly set up from the picturesque spring on the edge of the village Obrh pri Dragatušu. The diverse region also offers excellent possibilities for cycling trips. There are fifteen cycling trails. You can rent bikes from us. By boat, you can explore the astonishing surroundings and the relaxing nature of the Lahinja River, which lazily winds across the region. You can also pick the Kolpa River, a beauty of Bela Krajina, for such a relaxation. As one of the cleanest and warmest rivers in Slovenia, the Kolpa is a true summer paradise for swimmers, and it’s suitable for various types of boating. From the sports gear providers, you can rent canoes, kayaks, rafts, mini rafts, stand up paddleboards and any equipment you need. You can go hunting on the near hunting grounds, which are taken care of by the Hunting family Dragatuš. Hunting tourism is meant for locals and foreign hunting guests. The guests can only hunt in the company of a hunter with a valid hunting card. While hunting, the guest must abide by the companion’s instructions. The conditions for the hunting tourism are determined by the hunting families (managers of the hunting grounds); that is carried out according to the valid legislation. Fishing enthusiasts will surely quickly find the right place to relax. You can fish in the tranquil nature by the Kolpa, Lahinja, Dobličica, or in some ponds suitably arranged and rich with fish. The fishing area in Bela Krajina and the fishing permits are taken care of by the Fishing family Črnomelj and the Fishing family Metlika. When visiting Bela Krajina, you should also definitely experience the wine-growing tradition of the land. Varied geological and climatic qualities of the region are shown in the diversity of the produced wines. A special feature of the wine-growing region of Bela Krajina is also an extensive production of superior wines. Following your wishes, we take you on a visit of the renowned winemakers where you will be able to enjoy the abundance of tastes of vintage wines of Bela Krajina. For our guests, we organize a tour of the Regional Park Lahinja, which spreads out two kilometers south-west of Dragatuš. It is a part of the area called Natura (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and it encompasses the naturally preserved region of the upper Lahinja river basin with two nature reserves as well as with numerous natural and cultural monuments. There are forests, swamps, and humid meadows, which are a real botanical and zoological treasure trove. The areas Nerajski lugi and Lahinjski lugi are specially secured because they enable life conditions for rare and endangered animals and plants. In the natural park, there are many karstic features entwined: especially interesting is a smaller karstic field next to the karst cave Zjot (Djud) with an underground lake and a hall with numerous flowstone creations. One of the most mysterious features of the park is three geothermal springs. The location also has a culturally historical significance because the peninsula in the Lahinja’s curve near Pusti Gradec is an important archaeological site that attests that this area has already been settled since the New Stone Age. Among other things, one can see the 200-year-old Klepčev mill, a Venetian sawmill and the Church of All Saints with a bell tower of open dormers in Pusti Gradec.
