Constructed in the XVII, it has been in the family for over 200 years, refurbished into a comfortable home of the XXI century, with capacity for 19 people. Situated in Vila do Cano, Alentejo, 1h30mins drive from Lisbon Airport and just 45 mins from Badajoz! Ideal for relaxing, exploring historical venues, and taste the typical cuisine and wines. The construction dates back to the 19th century. It was once a resting place of a religious order. Today, the house has a swimming pool and a garden of 1 ha completely walled! The house is very large, has various common areas, 2 living rooms with fireplace, piano room, interior patio, snooker table, pingpong table and a football table. In the garden there is a swimming pool and also orchard, sawed, vegetable garden and many domestic animals! The house sleeps 19 people in 3 suites and 4 spacious bedrooms: - A reservation made for up to 10 guests gives you the right to use rooms 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 as well as the kitchen and all rooms of the house. - A reservation made for 11 to 13 guests gives you the right to use rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 as well as the kitchen and all rooms of the house. - A reservation made for 14 or more guests gives you the right to use all the rooms as well as the kitchen and all rooms of the house. - We are flexible at check out time, upon our availability. -Late check in is available if notice is given and has cost of € 30 Guests have access to a 1-hectare garden with a swimming pool surrounded by orange and lemon groves. Barbecue and tables of support. A snooker table, a ping-pong table and a football table. Car Parking Available We do not provide a washing machine but if you need anything washed, please contact me or Margarida. Margarida goes to our house every day during the week. It has divisions separated from the rest of the house, where it works. You'll probably only see her in the garden taking clothes to dry. Upon request, we can arrange daily meals or cleaning (on a budget). Mr. Manuel also comes daily at 6:30 and at the end of the day, to feed the animals, take care of the garden and the pool. They have independent access and will not enter your rooms except for your request Vila do Cano is a small Village kept in time. People are kind and will always try to help even if they don't understand you. In front of the main door you'll find the farmacy, the village also have 4 restaurants and a few coffee shops. There is a bakery where you can collect fresh bread every day Suggestions: Larger supermarkets only in Estremoz or Sousel. If you want more detailed information do not hesitate to contact me Suggestions: Guided tours by an archaeologist to the historic cities of Estremoz, Fronteira, Avis, Vila Viçosa and others. We have partners that have at your disposal horse rides or charters on the beautiful Alentejo plain. We still have a partner for hot air balloon rides. You can try canoeing, hydrospeed, aquapedestre in the Ribeira de Seda and boat trips and water skiing in the bay of Maranhão. And still birdwatch. The ideal is to have own transport, if necessary we can arrange transportation. Paula, will come to the house daily during the week. She has separate quarters where she works and you probably will just see her in the garden taking the laundry to dry. Per your request we can organize meals or daily cleaning. Sr. Manuel will also come daily at 6:30 am to feed the animals and take care of the garden and the same at the end of the day. The pool boy also comes twice a week. They have their independent access and will not come inside your quarters except per your request.
