Magnificent waterfront views from both reception rooms and all of the bedrooms. Our self catering cottage is available for holiday rentals throughout the year. lt sits overlooking Strangford Lough in the pretty village of Strangford with uninterrupted views across to Portaferry. It is within walking distance of shops, restaurants and pubs. There is a large private walled garden behind the house and private parking space for 2 cars to the front. The cottage was built in 1780 and is a listed building. It sits in the middle of a row of houses away from the busy centre of the village but close to all amenities. It has some low doorways inside and there are some steps between floor levels inside. There are stone steps in the rear patio area leading up to a walled garden at the rear. It is comfortably furnished and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. You will have full private use of the house and walled garden during your visit. The owner does not live on site and there are no shared facilities. If you have any issues during your stay please contact us immediately. Although we are not based locally we have people in the immediate area who will always be available to asist you. The house is in the pretty village of Strangford with unrestricted views across Strangford Lough. The village has every facility needed for a pleasant stay.: Post office, Pharmacist, hair dressers, 2 small supermarkets (Mace & Vivo), three pubs: The Cuan (with a restaurant & a food carry -out next door) & The Lobster Pot (bar with restaurant) and The Hole in the Wall ( bar with Off -Licence). The Artisan Cookhouse is a contemporary bistro and The Cake Room, serves fresh baked bread, pastries teas and coffees. Kevin Og's(sweets, gifts,newspapers, magazines, licensed Game of Thrones merchandise). A ferry takes you across to Portaferry which hosts Northern Irelands only Aquarium. The village is within walking distance of Castleward (Game of Thrones film location). There is a daily bus service to Downpatrick although a car is recommended for visiting the local area and beyond. A car is advised. Please note that the private rear walled garden is accessed by a flight of stone steps leading from the rear patio area therefore it may be difficult for very small children and people with mobility problems. Small children would need supervision when climbing the steps
