Choosing to stay at our property will provide you with a unique opportunity to experience the rich history of Greece first hand. The building itself is over 200 years old with original features preserved throughout the house from the wooden supporting beams to the windows on the lower floor originally designed for protection. The house also has stable and reliable internet wifi connection making it suitable as a work from home location. Guests will have access to the full property, complete with two balconies, four bedrooms with space for two people in each, two lounges (one of which can contains a small kitchenette, open fire place and can be converted into a 5th bedroom sleeping two people) Full kitchen facilities, including crockery. Main lounge space with television and a second open fireplace. Two large balconies with fantastic views of the distant mountains and sea- situated 3km from the house. A spacious garden containing fresh orange, lemon, fig, pear, pomegranate, olive, loquat and grapefruit trees which guests are welcome to help themselves to. We will be on hand to provide you with keys and answer any questions about the property when you arrive, we will then leave you to enjoy the house in peace! Unless you have any further queries in which case we will be more than happy to help out. Astros is situated approximately 160km (or a two hour drive) away from Athens. The house itself is situated 5 minutes walk from the town of Astros and 3km from Paralio Astros- which is next to the 5km beach which varies at points between sand and pebbles providing a setting for different tastes. Within this area are all the facilities you will need to make your stay comfortable. Astros is a small seaside town that gets busier in the summer seasons, with plenty of wonderful shops, cafes, taverns, restaurants, bars and nightlife to further enhance your stay. Once a week there are also daily cruises available to the islands of Spetses and Hydra departing from Astros port. Astros is ideally located to explore the Peloponnese peninsula. It's close to many beautiful beaches and significant ancient landmarks and monuments. From Astros you can easily access: the archaeological site of Mycenae, the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, Nafplio the first capital of Greece, The Castle Town of Monemvasia and winter/spring destinations include mountains Parnonas, with its famous Lepida waterfalls and Mainalo their rivers which are ideal for rafting and hiking. Destinations requiring more than 1 hour drive from Astros include the city of Kalamata, Sparta, beautiful island of Elafonisi, Pylos and Corinth. The house is very close to the bus/coach station however for exploring the area and for your own convinience we would strongly suggest having your own means of transportation.
