All Inclusive Bushcraft GullyCamp @campingbarbados
This workshop style course focuses on the skills and hiking is minimal. We will be spending the 2 nights at our gully camp. For those who want 3 meals a day and the comfort of modern camping gear and wifi then this is the survival course for you. Kids places $10. All meals and equipment provided. Site shop for drinks, snacks and wifi. Check photos for more info. Course is 48hours 2pm Friday - 2pm Sunday Our gully camp site is off the beaten track and off grid its the perfect base for bushcraft enthusiasts, hikers and explorers. Our overnight camp is suitable for absolute beginners. You will have an experienced guide present for the duration of your stay. First night: You can choose to sleep in a single man hammock or dome tent with sleeping bag. We will take a short hike (10 mins) to a nearby spring to catch cray fish. Opportunity to take a moonlight spring bath and photos of the local scenery. Second night: By the second night you will have aquired the knowledge and skills to build your own shelter and this is where we will sleep. A short hike to a rainforest like tropical garden to take pictures and appreciate the views over the island. Long pants, sensible shoes and insect repellant are highly recommended for the night time, especially May- September. It gets quite chilly in the gully at night, you'll be glad for the sleeping bags. There is secure storage for your bags/cases, surf boards etc, you will not have to carry everything into camp. Bare minimum Kit List Back pack OR a day bag Water bottle OR hydration bladder Sensible enclosed shoes Long pants Long sleeve shirt Short sleeve shirt Waterproof jacket (we have a few spares ) Snacks Towels and sleeping bags can be supplied however to reduce our impact on the environment we greatly appreciate if you bring your own. Near to Welchman Hall gully ,The Flower Forest and a quick van ride to Harrison's Cave. The Shorey Village and Bridgetown busses stop on the road outside camp, it can be an unreliable service through the day and it is often better to get a van by the rum shop in the village. Bathsheba is a 20 min bike ride away through some quaint country villages with breathtaking views. There is a supermarket a few bus stops away and you can get to Massey at Warrens in 10mins. This is an all inclusive 2 night adventure rhat covers the basic bushcraft skills required to survive and is based on the four main principles of survival – fire, food, shelter and water. Throughout the day you will learn how to build an emergency shelter, collect and purify your water, forage for and prepare your own food, and how to light a fire.
