Pleasant single /twin room in quiet house
My house is situated on a quite estate in the village of Ludgershall - Not a beautiful chocolate box village, but it is a convenient place to stay especially if you are not a fan of narrow winding lanes! However country lanes are but a stones throw away to lead you to some very pretty villages. I would describe my home as open to all who want a country break without being in the middle of nowhere or a Monday to Friday resting place with easy access to Tidworth, Perham Down or Andover. The bedroom is on the first floor and there is a bathroom on the same floor for sole use of guests - I have a double room also The room has a 3ft bed and is north facing but still quite light, comfortable and adequately furnished, There is no television in this room, however there is an excellent Wifi connection so no problem watching programmes on a laptop/tablet/phone Towels are provided If guests require more than tea/coffee and toast for breakfast they are more than welcome to use the kitchen to cook in the morning. They can also use kitchen to make tea and coffee whenever they wish or cook an evening meal/bring in a take away if they don't want to eat out. Weather permitting guests are can sit out in the garden. As a retired person I am around quite lot, so happy to chat over a cup of coffee if guests have time to spare. Otherwise a quick good morning and good evening is fine. I will also be available to answer any queries guests may have. My house is at the end of a cul-de-sac with a footpath right behind the fence and woods just a few minutes away with options for short or long walks. Ludgershall has a church, two pubs, a Chinese restaurant, an Indian restaurant, a couple of take-aways and two supermarkets. It is 8 miles from the market town of Andover which has several restaurants, pubs and a cinema. The historic cities of Winchester and Salisbury are 45mins and 30mins drive respectively from Ludgershall and the charming towns of Marlborough, Stockbridge and Hungerford are about a 30mins drive away. The World Heritage Site of Stonehenge is approx 15 miles from the house and the Neolithic Avebury stone circles are 16 miles away. Further afield are Southampton, Portsmouth, The New Forest and the Isle of Wight Easy access to the A303 for the West Country or East bound for London (M3) Local train stations are Andover or Grateley Journey time Andover to London is 1hr 10mins There is a very regular bus service to Salisbury or Andover - Even on a Sunday There is also a bus service to Marlborough I also have a double room available should guests wish to come as a family or group. There is enough room in the single bedroom for a 2'6"futon if guests wanted to share with a second person (ideal for children) Bedding and towels provided. A discount offered if both rooms booked together. In addition I can offer extra sleeping accommodation on a small double sofa-bed in the downstairs study which is next door to a cloakroom. The sofa bed is available for one or two people. Please note that there is only one bathroom situated on the first floor for guests' use (plus downstairs cloakroom) Please contact me if you require extra accommodation.
