Carpenters Cottage is a romantic grade two listed cottage, peaceful, cosy and full of original features. It is situated in the very pretty village of Wighton, close to Wells, next to a beautiful pub. Downstairs there is a welcoming sitting room with a wood burning stove and a kitchen which is light and airy. From here you can walk out to the sunny patio and relax in the fully enclosed garden. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with a kingsize Loaf bed and a lovely bathroom with shower bath. The cottage is dog friendly and is lucky to have the stylish Carpenters Arms pub next door. The cottage has a large fenced garden, great for dogs to run around in. It looks out towards fenced paddocks and to the church beyond. A herd of cows grazes here of Temples cheeses fame (certainly worth trying!) and an owl can often be seen hunting at dusk. The cottage has it's own parking space (gated) at the rear of the property. Wighton is a very pretty village 3 miles south of Wells next the Sea which you can visit, with it's wonderful beach, pubs, shops and bustling harbour. Carpenters Cottage is in a lovely position in Wighton. It is next to the newly opened Carpenters Arms pub which serves locally sourced food and drinks. After a long day at the beach, it is a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy a coffee or a pint of Woodfordes Wherry. The pub also welcomes dogs and the staff are very friendly. There is a bike hire company in the village (On Yer Bike) where you can hire bikes to explore the area beyond. Wells next the Sea is a 5 minute drive away and has a very beautiful beach which was voted the best beach by the Sunday Times in 2016. The beach is huge and sandy where you can walk for miles. Pine woods and the iconic painted beach huts line the beach. There is a great cafe here where you can rest for coffee and lunch. In the summer it has Friday night barbecues. Wells has lots going on, including festivals, triathlons and the fantastic Wells carnival at the beginning of August. Holkham Hall is close by too and is an impressive stately home that is well worth a visit. It has a large lake where you can hire boats and there are lots of walks in the park, plus cafes, shops and a wonderful walled garden. Seal trips are a very popular from Morston Quay too and there is a fantastic bird reserve at Cley Marshes. There are a wonderful array of pubs and restaurants to eat in the area including Wiveton Cafe (Of 'Normal For Norfolk' fame), Morston Hall, The Anchor also at Morston, The Crown and Wells Crab House both in Wells (a few of our favourites!). An evening on the Albatross, an old Dutch barge in Wells is also fun watching the sun go down over the sea. The cottage has it's own parking space (gated) at the rear of the property. Hot tub hire is available.
