Barn Cottage

Our guests particularly love the peace and quiet, the comfortable bed, and good shower. Barn Cottage is just a 25 minute drive to the most beautiful beaches on the North Norfolk coast, and offers easy access to market towns, historic buildings, great pubs and restaurants. Small dogs accepted by prior arrangement only. Barn Cottage is a tiny one bedroom cottage all on one level with its own private patio, kitchen/living area, king size bed, double shower, smart TV & dishwasher. It nestles between our house & a second holiday cottage in a small, rural village. Our garden is also available for your use. There's off road parking in a gated courtyard and country walks from the door. Mobile signals are not good in the cottage, but they work if you walk up the road. WIFI is mostly good. The nearest shops and pubs are 3-5 miles away. Own transport essential. This is a self-contained cottage but annexed to our house so some neighbourly noise may be heard at times. There is ample parking in the courtyard which is accessed through a wooden gate. The owners live and work in the house next door and are happy to advise on places to go, where to eat, shop etc. You only have to ask. Helhoughton is a tiny village just 4 miles outside Fakenham and excellently placed for visiting North Norfolk. There are good walks from the door. Local pubs are 3-5 miles away. Fakenham has several supermarkets and a Thursday market and auction. The host can advise on farm shops and other local markets. Great beaches are at Wells and Holkham about 25 minutes drive away. There are nature reserves nearby at Sculthorpe Moor and Pensthorpe. The Shrine at Walsingham is a 15 minute drive. Several historic houses, such as Sandringham, Houghton Hall, Holkham Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall and the Priory at Castle Acre are within easy reach. You will need your own transport. Very good area for cycling. If you would like to bring a small dog, please check with us first. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but we have cats and a labrador so ask that you keep your dog under control. They can be exercised in our garden and there are great dog walks from the door. We ask that you keep your dog off the furniture and do not leave them alone in the cottage at any time.
