Four gorgeous country pubs within walking distance, fantastic on and off road cycling routes and many National Trust properties within easy reach such as Knole Park, Penshurst Place, Chartwell, and Ightham Mote. Surrounded by Kent countryside and apple and raspberry orchards, in the Garden of England but only an hour from London. The tiny hamlet of Dunk’s Green has its own local pub, the Kentish Rifleman, where the villagers gather on the green on a warm summer’s evening. With many walks across the fields and through the footpaths you won’t need your car whilst you’re staying. One well behaved dog is welcome too. The cottage is airy and fresh, designed to be lived in but provide you with a relaxing stay with everything you need to make you comfortable. All three bedrooms have fine 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen, and regularly replaced duvets and pillows. With fantastic views across the orchards and with a gorgeous, enclosed, private garden, you’ll wish you could stay here for longer! I’m nearby and can be with you to help with any questions you might have. I just want you to enjoy your stay and am happy to be contacted, but don’t want to intrude if you’d prefer. Four local pubs, the Kentish Rifleman in Dunk’s Green, three minutes walk, The Papermakers Arms in Plaxtol, fifteen minutes walk, The Chaser in Shipbourne 25 minutes walk and The Swan at West Peckham 45 minutes walk. Great off road cycling up in The Hurst and Mereworth Woods. The charming town of Royal Tunbridge Wells a 20 minute drive with the market town of Sevenoaks about a 20 minute drive and Tonbridge 15 minutes. Locally you can walk or cycle to your hearts content. There’s plenty of parking at the cottage for three cars. If you’re getting the train down here go to Tonbridge or Sevenoaks station and there are always plenty of taxis that will bring you out to Dunk’s Green. There are buses that come through the village every couple of hours or so and they can be useful if you’re leaving your car at home. Our part of Kent, surrounded by countryside and with views from the cottage across the Bourne Valley, is a wonderful place to spend a wintery week out of season. With the wood-burner in the sitting room, excellent heating and additional blankets to help you keep extra cosy, we hope we’ve thought of everything to see you through the shorter days and longer nights.
