Thor's Garden Homestead
Thor's Garden Homestead sits in four acres of land in a quiet hamlet six miles from the medieval city of Lincoln. The accommodation is well equipped, light and spacious .The lounge has a wood burning stove and guests can choose between a double bedroom, with en suite, overlooking the pond and two singles , with a study area, tucked away in the roof. There is a second bathroom & toilet. The surrounding countryside has an extensive network of footpaths and the quiet roads are ideal for cycling . The property backs on to SSSI woodland and patio doors overlook the pond. Guests can relax on the lounge sofa and watch a myriad of small birds at our feeders as well as the activities of moorhens, sheep and our own guinea fowl. We have camera clips of a barn owl who visits the pond and glimpses of deer in the paddock. Guests can use the entire accommodation, relax in the garden furniture by the pond or wander in the four acres of grounds. Our house is next door to the holiday let so we are available if help is needed but the entrances are entirely separate and your privacy is guaranteed . We do have two bedrooms which offers a choice of beds for couples or singles travelling together. We like to offer a little luxury with a lot of space so restrict the number of guests to two. Both our house and the holiday let are on the same four acre site but with a large garden in between them so your privacy is guaranteed but we are there to help if needed. The historic city of Lincoln with its fine cathedral, holding one of the few copies of Magna Carta, is only seven miles away. There is the new International Bomber Command Centre only six miles away and Woodhall Spa "The home of golf in England" is also within a short drive. The nearby Lincolnshire Wolds is a relatively undiscovered area of beautiful rolling hills with plenty of good walks and beyond that is the coast with its seaside resorts. There is a great deal to do in our county whether it is exploring our countryside or getting acquainted with our history. Guests are able to hire our electric bikes which are for their sole use during their stay. A popular Sustrans route runs by the river Witham from Lincoln to Boston and is only three miles from the holiday let. We also have a series of local maps which start from the holiday let and follow routes along quiet country lanes, pointing out aspects of our fascinating history.
