Leaping Lamb, our bespoke luxury 18ft shepherds hut. It is nestled amongst the sheep and wildflowers of Drews Farm - a working farm situated just 15 minutes walk from the train station. Lie in its' Kingsize bed and savour views of the Southdowns National Park. Woodburner, kitchenette, ensuite with hot shower and seating all fit perfectly inside. Outside; enjoy a fire pit with views of the sunset. Leaping Lamb is one of two shepherds huts at Drews Farm placed in the same field but facing opposite directions looking out over different fields, they do not overlook each other. Drews Farm is a family run farm with sheep, cows, chickens and arable land. The huts are easily accessible just off the farm yard and next to the main farm barn. Built by the infamous Plankbridge, Leaping Lamb is designed to perfection. No expense has been spared. The bed has an orthopaedic mattress, the ensuite is fully plumbed in to the mains water supply. All the energy supplying Leaping Lamb comes from solar panels on the roof of the big barn. A fire pit is outside with chairs to enjoy the sunset and ambience on the farm. Relax outside taking in the views of the valley and up to Stansted wood. Secure storage is available for bicycles, kayaks, paddle boards etc. Meals can be provided by a local chef, all you have to do is to heat them up. A menu will be supplied on request for pre-ordering. Electric bikes can be hired by pre arrangement. Windsurfing and sailing lessons can also be arranged locally. Paddle boarding is also available on request on the nearby Chichester Harbour, area of outstanding natural beauty. Drive right up to the big barn, the huts are a short walk away. The Farm is a family run business. James and Anna are on hand to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The huts are a short distance from the main house, but are not overlooked. We can answer any questions such as where to walk or cycle or other local attractions. We are happy to organise for you: Home cooked meals from a local chef. The farm is a mix grazing and arable farm, it stretches from Rowlands Castle to Finchdean and Forestside, the southern boundary is shared with The Stansted Estate. It is a walkers and cyclists paradise. We have sheep, a small herd of Sussex cows, chickens and two dogs. The village of Rowlands Castle has 3 pubs, a coffee shop and a well supplied village shop, hardware and pharmacy. Our nearest pub is The George in Finchdean just 10 minutes walk away. A beautiful 40 minutes walk through woodland adjacent to the field with the huts in takes you to Stansted House where there is a wonderful tearoom with excellent lunches, a farm shop and garden centre. 50m from the hut is Staunton Way - a 20.5m circular walk that connects Queen Elizabeth Country Park and Staunton Country Park. This also links into the Southdowns Way. The area is well known in the cycling world for its abundance of road and off road cycle trails. 10 minutes drive away is the historic seaside town of Emsworth with a number of boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. 30 minutes drive away is the roman city of Chichester, Goodwood horse racing and speedway track. 30 minutes in the opposite direction is Portsmouth, the Historic Dockyard and ferries to the Isle of Wight. The Train from the village is on the Portsmouth to London Waterloo Line with frequent trains to Portsmouth (20Mins) and London just 80 mins away.
