B&B in a church near Amsterdam: Top floor room

Surrounded by the beautiful countryside of North Holland, the former Dutch Reformed church of Etersheim is located next to the Marker lake. This historical heritages is our home since 2002. Since 2012 we have added two nice rooms with private bathrooms for bed and breakfast: This add is for the spacious Top floor room. You can also look for the add for the Ground floor room. The spacious Top floor room is situated high up in the church building, with an adjoining private bathroom with shower. The room is very light and has large windows. Because of the height, you have a wonderful view, overlooking the countryside and Marker Lake. The space is suited for 1-3 adults. The room is furnished with a king size box spring and a single bed. There are two easy chairs present, and a table and chairs underneath the window that offers the nicest view. Television and Wifi, tourist information about the area and some books, board games and toys are present in the room. You can make coffee, tea and hot chocolate yourselves, a microwave, fridge, sink and tableware are also present. The bathroom contains a spacious shower cabin, toilet and sink. A baby bed, -tub, -chair and potty are available. Enjoy breakfast privately up in your room, or downstairs in our grand family living room with church windows. In the garden around the church are several nice seats for you, and on a warm day breakfast can be served outside. (The room price includes breakfast.) Good to know: *In light of the current situation extra attention is given to desinfection in cleaning and preparing the breakfast. It can occur that breakfast can only be served in your room. * The room is only accessible by stairs (up to 3th floor), and also includes some steps itself. * Smoking is prohibited in the building * A sweet Golden Retriever dog and a cat also live in the house, (not inside the guest room). We live ourselves in the church, and will be present to welcome you, answer questions and to serve breakfast. Please let us know when contacting us, if you have a food intolerance etc. so we can take that in account for breakfast. Check in after 4 pm Check out before 11 am Etersheim is an ancient agrarian hamlet, surrounded by wonderful Dutch landscape, next to the Marker lake. It's in the center of many walking and cycling routes. Within 10 minutes walking one finds a traditional village school museum and a museum mill with visitors center. The village is situated between old harbor city Hoorn and touristic towns Edam and Volendam. The agricultural world heritage area Beemster Polder is very close. Open air museums Enkhuizen and Zaanse Schans and capital Amsterdam are 30 minutes away by car. A bus (nr. 314) drives very frequently straight to Hoorn (15 minutes) in the North, and to Edam-Volendam (10 min.) and Amsterdam Central Station (30 min.) in the South. Note that it is a good 20 minute walk from the church to the bus, or 7 minutes by bike. Bikes can be rented at 'Keizer Tweewielers' Look them up and rent them in advance, so they will be delivered to the b&b in advance. For visitors travelling by plane: Please note that airport Schiphol is located South of Amsterdam, and our B&B 35 km North of Amsterdam, and take in account that night buses only drive to and from our village on Fridays and Saturdays. * In verband met de huidige situatie wordt extra aandacht besteed aan desinfectie bij het schoonmaken en rondom het ontbijt. Het kan voorkomen dat het ontbijt alleen op de kamer geserveerd kan worden. * The bus stop 'Oosthuizen Dorp', supermarket and restaurant are 1.7 km or a good 20 minutes walk away. * Bikes can be rented at Keizer Tweewielers (look them up for contact info), we advice to rent them in advance, so they are delivered to the b&b in time. * Amsterdam is well accessible for a day trip, but if you wish to spend all your days in Amsterdam we suggest to choose a closer b&b. * This b&b is not very close to airport Schiphol, which is located South of Amsterdam.
