Peace and Tranquility near Theze, close to Sisteron, in Alps de Haute Provence.

A detached three bedroom property, situated in the Durrance valley, surrounded by fields and woods. On all sides of the house there are views of the pre Alps. It is one hours drive from ski station, Le Joue de Loup, and two hours from the Mediterranean coast at Marseille. The house is a mile from the nearest village, Theze, and on a single track road used by local farm vehicles. Wonderfully warm in summer, there is full central heating and a wood burner for the winter. The house has a large modern kitchen with all amenities, and in the cave there is a play area with a pool table. The nearest large town is Sisteron described as the pearl of Provence, it has excellent supermarkets and a weekly outdoor market. Sisteron has a dominating Citadel overlooking the town, and is on the historic route Napoleon. There are many old streets and houses with plenty of cafes and restaurants to explore. It also has a very popular plan d'eau. For those energetically minded, there are superb walks and bike rides to be had all around the house, local area and further afield. The house is five minutes from Vaumeilh airfield, famed as one of the foremost glider sites in Europe. The valley is also the apple growing capital of France, and there are orchards stretching in every direction. Twice in recent years the Tour de France has passed through Theze village. For the last 20 years the house has been owned and restored by the King family - we try to spend around three months each year there!
