Araisi windmill is a historic place, built around 1852, it was part of the local manor house. The property had been looked after by our family for six generations and has evolved into a little piece of nothern paradise - history blended in hills, meadows, trees, and ponds. Pie pirts ir pieejama plaša teritorija, terase ar skatu uz dzirnavām, dīķis kurā iespējams izbraukt ar laivu. Besides the windmill on the property, which itself is a fully functioning historic monument, a 9th-century wooden island castle is located just 500m away and one of the oldest towns in Latvia just 10-minute ride. Though the public bus is available, the best option for getting around is by car. Cesis, the 13th-century town is just 10 minutes away, where you will find a cozy small-town atmosphere with cafes and places to see, Araisi lake castle and surrounding sights is a 10-minute walk.
