The house is in a small hamlet of gorgeous homes and agricultural farms. It is outstandingly beautiful and very quiet. Perfect for walking, cycling and relaxation. The hill top location allows stunning views over surrounding countryside. The Space This family home has all modern conveniences. The property sleeps 8 (4 double bedrooms). One bedroom is upstairs in the magically restored hayloft. It is accessed by split oak beam stairs which are a beautiful and unique feature of this property but are not suitable for small children as there is no hand rail and care must be taken at all times. The upstairs bedroom also has a TV and living area (with DVD, video). Downstairs there are three more bedrooms, two bathrooms, a very large living room, a dining area and a kitchen. The kitchen has a large gas oven/hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and an adjoining utilities room has a washing machine and drying area. The huge open plan living area which is perfect for relaxing. There is free WiFi upto 2GB download. If more is required it can be purchased in 1GB chunks, please contact the owners for current costs. All the beds are very high quality and comfortable. There is under floor heating/cooling throughout the downstairs area which makes this house very warm in winter and cool and airy in summer. There are wooden shutters on all downstairs rooms and two of the bedrooms have French doors opening onto the patio at the back of the house. There is an extensive fenced garden with two large patios for al fresco dining and sun bathing. Gazebo, sunbeds, BBQ. Also available on request (deposit may be required) are adult and children's bikes, boules, croquet, electric piano and amplifier/speaker. This house is romantic and finished to a very high standard and set in a tranquil, relaxing location. It would be splendid for Christmas/New Year breaks and ideal for summer holidays. Guest Access Guests will be met by our representative who will be able to answer your questions and show you where everything is and how things work. We have a website for things to do locally which we can send you. Interaction with Guests We live in London and we will not be in France at the same time as our guests. The Neighbourhood The house is located in a very rural situation at the top of a hill in a quiet farming hamlet in the Poitou-Charentes. There are beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. There are two working farms in the village and a handful of family homes. Getting around You will need a car to access local amenities. There is no public transport. The village is very quiet and tranquil. Other Things to Note There are many local activities easily available including horse riding in St Front (a couple of miles away), swimming in the local rivers (the Charente at Mansle and Rejeillant near Ruffec) and municipal pools (in Mansle and St Yrieux), canoeing and paddle boarding (at Vertueil and Ruffec), walking, cycling, sightseeing.
