Jackdaw’s Perch is a two-bedroom Victorian terraced cottage with views across rural County Durham. Lovingly restored to provide comfortable holiday accommodation. Located in a quiet village close to Bishop Auckland and the Durham Dales, two miles from Kynren. Easy to access Durham City and the wider North East region. Excellent for cyclists/walkers and dog friendly too. Covid19 update; Visit England 'Good to Go' accredited Full private use of our lovingly restored two bedroomed Miners Cottage, dating back to the mid 1800`s. Cosy, warm and sunny lounge, kitchen/diner with large table and original stone flagged floor. Two double bedrooms, the main bedroom with kingsize bed and the second room with the option of either a kingsize or two singles. Both rooms have their own en suite shower room and toilet. There is some restricted headroom in the second bedroom, which only adds to the homely feel of the cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with cooker, microwave, and toaster. Dishwasher in the kitchen. A laundry room with sink and washing machine is provided in the building across the yard, which also provides cycle storage, access to the rear and an outside WC! Fully central heated, with NEST thermostatic control, and an Opti-Myst fire in the lounge. This is a lovely warm cottage. Necessities such as tea and coffee and milk are in provided. All bed linen and towels are provided. Free Wi-Fi is provided. Televisions in the lounge and second bedroom. There is a garden in the front, where you can watch the birds in their bird bath, and a rear courtyard with table and chairs. Full access I know the local area well and more than happy to give further support or advice if you wish. Beautiful rural County Durham is on your doorstep, with easy access to the dales. Bishop Auckland with all of its cultural and arts attractions is a five minute drive, and Durham City is only 10 miles away by car. It is possible to visit us by public transport as there is a bus stop nearby and a train station in Bishop Auckland, which links to the mainline in Darlington. Giving easy access to York to the south, and Newcastle to the north. Parking outside the cottage. Bus stops in walking distance Train station in Bishop Auckland, a five minute drive, or short bus ride away. The local public house is less than five minutes walk, and two minutes more will get you to the local Ice Cream Parlour.
