Work people in the area and business guests are welcome. Please note that at the moment bedrooms not requested for sleeping will be locked due to the Corona Virus. Please note:-There is also some building going on in the fields next door including large machinery and there is possibly more noise than usual. This is reflected in the costs as we have not increased our prices from last year unlike other accommodation. The accommodation is completely private and self contained with its own drive and parking for at least 3 vehicles. There is a large patio area with a table and chairs and colourful flower tubs to the rear and its own private entrance. A few sit on toys are available outside for younger guests. As we live directly next door we will look forward to welcoming guests and answering any queries they may have. We will be able to help them with places to visit, local eating places, local pubs and much more. This information is forwarded once a guest has booked their stay. We are mostly on hand to help out if required. We enjoy meeting people from all over the country and from many other parts of the world. The wearing of masks and self distancing will be observed at all times. Alternatively during this time of the pandemic you are welcome to use the key safe in order to enter the accommodation without actually meeting us. You can contact us by telephone if you need to speak with us or if there are any issues that need attending to. We are also quite happy for you to bring your own pillows if preferred. We will also ensure that we will take even extra care with our cleaning routines at all times. Leek and the surrounding area has many good eating places, pubs and restaurants with a variety of different types of food including Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Italian and of course good home made local cooking. One of our favourites is the Lazy Trout which is about a 15 to 20 minutes drive away. The Black Horse pub is about ten minutes away, serves food, including Vegan. The Wheel pub is 2 minutes walk away in the village and serves food every day. Children are welcome. We are close to a regular bus route to the historic market town of Leek and also to the Potteries. Bus timetables are available on request There are also good taxi services locally but I recommend booking a taxi in advance especially at weekends. Peak Rise is situated in the delightful village of Longsdon which is close to many interesting places to visit and explore. Whether you plan to walk in the Peak District, go rock climbing in the Roaches, visit Alton Towers for a fun day out which will be open again on April 12th, spend a day in Buxton or Bakewell, wander around Deep Hayes Country Park or the Churnet Valley Steam Railway (minutes away) or take your children to Tittersworth, you couldn't be in a better place. Rudyard Lake is less than 10 minutes away where you can take a small steam train from the quaint station down to the lake, have a walk and then stop for a coffee, tea or snack at the cafe beside the lake. Contact the owner for a more detailed list as there are too many places to mention. Peak Rise is also situated close to two Wedding Venues - The Ashes Barn (one mile away) and Heaton House Farm ( six miles away) . We can accommodate guests attending weddings held at these venues.
