The Lodge is a beautiful Cotswold stone house in a peaceful setting only 1.5 hours’ drive from London. This is the perfect place to relax with family and friends, enjoy our lovely secluded garden, bicycle rides on country lanes, beautiful country walks with stops at gastro pubs and cosy evenings by the fire. Making it the perfect escape from the city. Outside The Lodge is surrounded by a lovely large garden, housing some flowers and fruit trees. It is completely private and not overlooked making it the perfect space for bbq’s and al fresco dining. Facing the garden is an open paddock where sheep and cows graze peacefully and rabbits run freely. The Lodge is located on a quiet country lane used for access only, outside a village in a small hamlet, there are a number of friendly neighbours within easy access and view. The off-road parking are is large, providing sufficient space for five cars. Inside The house has been tastefully decorated creating a charming, cosy and welcoming feel with character features throughout. The beautiful limestone floor is heated in the kitchen and dining area, and solid wood floors in the rest of the ground floor contribute to the warm feel of the house. The solid wood kitchen has a large double Belfast sink and a professional Lacanche range with a double oven. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances (microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and dishwasher) and all the kitchen essentials. There is a separate cosy dining room, with a table that sits 8 comfortably, making it the perfect space for family meals. The practical utility room opens on to the garden and provides the perfect place to take off muddy boots and wet coats. It is equipped with a fridge/freezer, a washer/dryer and a deep country sink. On the other side, the kitchen leads to a large and light triple-aspect drawing room, with French doors opening into the garden. There are two comfortable sofas and 2 arm chairs arranged around the cosy wood burner. There is also a second sitting room on the ground floor – the ‘snug’ which has two sofas and an armchair and a lovely large open fire. There is a large flat screen TV in this room with BT TV. On the ground floor there is also a slate bathroom with a loo and shower. Upstairs Upstairs there are four bedrooms. 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin room. The master bedroom has a clever zip and link bed making it either a super king or two singles if preferred. There are two large built-in wardrobes, a chest of drawers and a dressing table. The en-suite bathroom is of local limestone and has a large walk-in shower and two stone sinks. There is a further king-size bedroom with ample storage, a smaller double bedroom and a sweet little room with two single beds. There is a bright family bathroom on this floor with a shower over the bath. And also an additional landing space with a desk. The bedrooms will be prepared for your arrival with luxury Egyptian cotton sheets and soft towels. All the bedrooms have lovely views of beautiful countryside.
