The Old Stables at Clay Cottage
The Old Stables is a refurbished 17th Century building. We have recently had a woodburner installed. The property has double bedroom, a spacious and comfortable lounge, and a cosy and fully functional kitchen. The Old Stables has a large garden for use of the occupants with garden furniture and BBQ. There is parking next to the cottage. Our old rural wifi has now been updated and is now fibre to premises and is usually 80mb/s or more. The Old Stables as the name implies are a renovated stable block from the 17th Century. There are some original features such as beams and the rings for tying up the livestock. The bedroom has a super comfy bed ( we know thats an essential when not in your own bed ) and has a wardrobe and hangers and a spacious chest of drawers. We also will supply a pop up cot for couples with a small child should it be required. The garden area is about 1/3 of an acre and is the perfect space to relax under the fruit trees. There is an abundance of wildlife and if you are fortunate early one morning you might see the deer grazing in the fields opposite the property. The Old Stables are a perfect spot to explore Norfolk as we are situated centrally. With little or no noise or air pollution you are guaranteed a great nights sleep. Also with no light pollution its a great place to watch the stars at night on the patio with a nice glass of wine. The cottage has a large gated paddock with a patio which is for exclusive use of the guests. There is also a large driveway and parking right next to the cottage in a safe and secure area. My wife or I are always on site as we run the cattery at the premises. If you need advice on trips, eating and drinking establishments or just a natter about the local area we are glad to take time to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to send us a message with your enquiry. The cottage is in rural Norfolk and the nearest shops are 3 miles away. The nearest larger village is Hingham which has a lovely pub and restaurant, The White Hart,( Which will be open from 4th July with Covid 19 compliant restrictions ) and a chemist, paper shop and we now have a Co-op in Hingham as well which is very well stocked. Our village, Cranworth, is very small with no amenities but we do have a lovely church with its own set of stocks from the 16th Century. You will need a car to get about from the cottage. It is also a great place to cycle and I have secure storage areas for people who want to bring bikes with them. There is a bus service into Norwich from the village of Hingham which is regular. There is a large Tesco in Dereham and a smaller one in Watton which are about 6/7 miles from the Old Stables. - The TV has a guest Netflix Login and Freeview TV. - Unfortunately we do not allow dogs at The Old Stables.
