The Beach Cottage

My place has secure access to the beach with a tidal pool just a very short walk away for safe swimming and snorkling for the youngsters. The beach cottage offers you a safe, peaceful and comfortable stay. A Bathroom/toilet facility is available upstairs and shower/toilet down stairs. The kitchen is equipped with a four plate stove and microwave for convenience cooking as well as a washing machine for your use. A tumble dryer is there for your convenience as well as basic kitchen appliances/equipment. There is an outside braai facility for your enjoyment for which the necessary tools are provided. Bedding and bath towels (for 6) are provided. you are required to bring your own beach towels along. The cottage is one unit of 13 in a secure complex. Access to the beach is private and safe. Each unit has it's own braai facility and private entertainment area. The outside shower is a communal facility situated in the complex at the entrance to the beach access - this is there to rinse off sand and salt after your time spent relaxing/fishing/diving/mussel picking (don't forget your licences). Communal wash lines are available as well as an outside area for preparing your days catch for your gastronomic seafood fare. The Cottage is an hours drive away from my home. Every effort is made to ensure that a clean, fresh and comfortable space is handed over to you personally on your arrival. The caretaker will be there to hand over the keys should I be unavailable. In the event that anything further is required or needs attending to I am only a phone call away and have systems in place to attend to these matters. The neighborhood pretty much caters for the holiday season with December being the most popular. July sees the start of the annual sardine run and in the past we have been fortunate to have plenty of activity right on our doorstep. Fishing/diving is the most popular activity in the area with surfing coming up next with a popular spot very close by. There are restaurants aplenty - most of them a short drive away and a lot off the main road ranging from fine dining to burger and beer. Just ask the locals or consult the local directory. The beach cottage is ultimately nestled in a very beautiful, peaceful and completely tranquil setting. A vehicle is definitely required for your own safety and convenience. The beach cottage is situated between two main supermarkets for convenience/cost saving shopping both about 7 kms either side of it. There are a number of smaller superettes, tearoom cafes, fresh produce, butcheries and bottlestores etc. in closer proximity (short drive). Local produce (fruit) is available roadside pretty much all along the main road.
