The Barn, Staplehurst: Detached rural property

A detached studio nestled in the Kent countryside, a private entrance opens into a hallway leading into a spacious bedroom with far-reaching views and ensuite shower room. An outside seating area looks over the fields to the sunset. Perfectly located for country walks, exploring historic homes and gardens, and vineyard tours. Tea/coffee facilities and a choice of breakfast cereals are provided. The Barn is thoroughly cleaned in line with guidance, hand wash and extra cleaning materials provided. The Barn was originally an agricultural building that formed part of a working farm. Large windows give a light and airy feel, and offer extensive views over the neighbouring fields. The Barn has a calm and tranquil feel, perfect for getting away from things. Tea/coffee making facilities, microwave, fridge, clean plates/bowls/cutlery, and a selection of breakfast cereals are all provided within the property so you have the independence to enjoy basic meals without having to venture out. Frankies Farmshop is a 5 minute drive and offers wonderful breakfasts, tempting cakes and light meals. There are plenty of cafes and shops in nearby villages, as well as good local pubs serving food a short drive away. Guests have sole use of The Barn. The Barn has its own private entrance accessed directly from the drive. Guests are welcome to sit out in the private garden area at the rear of The Barn, accessed through a side gate This is a family run property. We live on site in the main house, at the other end of the drive. We'll aim to meet you when you arrive, show you how everything works and then leave you in peace to enjoy your stay. If you need anything just come up to the house or give us a call by phone. The Barn is situated in a lovely, peaceful area surrounded by farmland and open countryside. There are lots of good walks across the fields or along the lanes - maps are available in the property. There are several wineries located nearby. The award-winning Balfour Winery on the Hush Heath Estate is a 10 minute walk away, where you can enjoy tastings, tours, and walks through the vineyards. For those that prefer historic houses and gardens, The Barn is a great base from which to explore Sissinghurst Castle (5 miles), Batemans, Scotney Castle, Leeds Castle and Great Dixter. Cranbrook, our local market town, is 15 minutes drive and has a good range of small independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Tunbridge Wells is 30 minutes drive, and offers excellent shops, restaurants, and entertainment. There is parking at the property, and an electric vehicle charging point is available by prior arrangement for an additional charge. The closest train station is Staplehurst which has direct services to / from London, and we are a short taxi ride away. As we are a rural area there is little other public transport. Staplehurst village with local shops and services is about 2 miles away.
