2 Cottage Gite - 4 Bedrooms 3 Shower Rooms, Private Heated Plunge Pool - Vienne

Maison La Roche Gite is 2 small stone cottages attached by a sun porch to make 1 larger accommodation sleeping up to 9 people. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms(1 cottage with 1 shower room the other cottage with 2 shower rooms ensuite). There are 2 well equipped kitchens with dishwashers etc, 2 living rooms 2 TV’s etc. Free WiFi throughout. There are 4 bedrooms in total, 1 is downstairs and has a double bed (150x200) ideal for anyone who may struggle with stairs or have mobility issues. Upstairs in that cottage there is another bedroom which has a double bed (160x200) and a single bed (90x190) so can sleep up to 3 people, this cottage has a shower room downstairs. The cottage next door is slightly larger and operates as a B&B outside of summer months. It has both bedrooms upstairs and both have en-suite shower rooms. The double room has a 150x190cm bed. The other room has the option of 2 x 90x200cm beds or they can go together to make a super king size 180x200cm bed. Ceiling fans are fitted in the upstairs bedrooms throughout and we find that the cottages normally stay lovely and cool during the summer if doors and windows are closed during the heat of the day. All linens and indoor towels (please bring your own pool towel!) are provided and your beds are made up and for you ready for you on arrival. Main Dining areas are outside 1 covered in the courtyard garden to the rear of the properties and 1 in the garden under the pergola which offers some shade from the summer sun. The garden is fully enclosed and located just across the quiet residents lane (5 metres)from the Gite. It has a private 4m Heated Plunge Pool which is for the exclusive use of Gite guests. The pool is intended as a cooling off only and is not suitable for swimming, we have a larger municipal pool approx 1km walk from the Gite should you require swimming for exercise. There are lots of seating areas around the garden so that you can relax in the sun or the shade. We do welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs by prior agreement. There is an extra charge of 50 euros per stay for dogs. The Gite is located in a wonderful area with lots of walks and great bike rides available to you. (We can recommend good bike hire companies or bring your own bikes). We are located just 200 metres from the River Vienne and there are many activities close by including Bungy Jumping, zip lining, climbing confidence courses, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and lots more. Further away we have the wonderful town of Chauvigny with its Antique markets and old historic town up on the hill well worth a day visit. We have the historic town of Montmorillon within 30 minutes drive and Poitiers and Limoges approx 1 hour drive from the Gite with the famous Futuroscope in Poitiers. There is also the fabulous Valley of the Monkeys approx 40 minutes drive away which is well worth a day out visit the Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Orangutans and much more. There are 3 restaurants within 500 metres of the Gite which cater for most needs during the summer and across the river into l’is Jourdain itself you have a supermarket, pharmacy etc and a couple more cafes and restaurants to sample.
