Studio on the Beekeeping Homestead

Our accomodation is located in the center of small village Hrovača, wich was several times rated the most beautiful village in Slovenia. Beekeping homestead offers privacy, escape from stressful everyday life to a place where bees with their scents and sound create unique serene atmosphere. Our apartment is equipped with some unique renovated furniture, it has fully equiped kitchenette and a modern bathroom. You can enjoy the views to the garden from balcony bench. Our one-room apartment (20 m²) has beds designed in a way there is a good use of space. It offers most comfort for two people, but there are also two extra beds (smaller size: 190*70 cm), so up to four people can stay in. You can check our other listing, in case you need two separate living areas, more space or if more friends are coming with you. Our studio boasts a traditionally made wooden balcony for relaxing, hanging out and smoke breaks. Some furniture is renovated, which adds a bit of rustic feel. Kitchenette has all the utensils for cooking a smaller meal and dining in, electric stove, refridgerator and electric kettle. We also provide free coffee, sugar and salt. The house has a small vegetable garden, where in the summer guests can help themselves with herbs, salad, tomatoes,... There is also a delicious grape vine. Under the mighty shadow of the pear tree and in the safe shelter of the hayrack you can prepare yourself a picnic. We meet and greet our guests to hand-over keys and provide a quick tour of the studio. If guest wishes we take them to our beekiping honey cellar, unique in slovenian region, for our homemade honey beverages tasting. Would you like to hear about our beekeping story, a half-century tradition? As locals we can also suggest places to visit, eat or drink. We can also help you organize bear observation or buy fishing licences. Hrovača is a idyllic village where animals roam free, church bells tell time and people are known for their hospitality. They like to offer guests their homemade brandy. Our place is also a walking distance from city Ribnica, where you can visit Ribnica Handcraft Centre - a woodenware and pottery centre. Museum of Ribnica, located in the castle, where one of the most most interesting exhibition is The Bloody Fight against the Witchcraft. Did you know that one of the last witch trials in Slovenia was held in Ribnica? We are neighbors with renowned 200-year old Škrabec homestead, birthplace of Stanislav Škrabec, the most important Slovenian linguist of the nineteenth century. If you are a nature enthusiast forests and lush meadows are not far away from the house. Our place is a perfect starting point for observing bears and other wildlife in Kočevsko-Ribniški forest. Besides, you can visit one of six virgin forest of the Kočevje region, a touch of prehistorical times. Some hiking trails are close by and if you want summer cooling you can jump into the lake Rudniško jezero. There is a bus stop 800 m from house, from where bus takes you to Ljubljana or Kočevje hourly durning day. Ljubljana is 44 km away and Ljubljana airport is 70 km away. Wa are a ideally located for a stop if you are on a way to Adriatic sea, wich is 100 km away.
