A beautiful, rural cottage situated 5 minutes from Soho Farmhouse in the West Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the second room has twin beds and a Simon Horn cot bed and there is a triple bunk in the third bedroom for children. The cottage was fully renovated in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , features vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and is fully stocked with White Company linen, a trust larder, a wood burner and beautiful, uninterrupted views over the Cotswolds countryside. The perfect getaway for friends or families looking to escape to the quintessential British countryside. Whether your ideal weekend is raucous laughter around the dinner table, beautiful countryside walks, or just a good book next to the fire, Willows Cottage has something for everyone. Warm and cosy during the winter, lush and verdant outside every summer, the cottage garden is a natural oasis for wildlife. Please note that the meadows shown in the views at the front and rear of the property are private and do not belong to the cottage, but guests have full access to both the front lawn shown in the images and through the willow arch to the larger rear lawn and of course walks through the local countryside on the plentiful bridal paths. Our beautiful cottage is well equipped for families of all ages, with the garden to be explored, lots of wooden toys, children’s books and games, a high chair and large cot. However, please be aware that the stairs are rather steep, so we have stair gates available for families with mobile toddlers and there is also a brook leading to a stream in the garden. We have recently added a terrace with bench seating for up to eight guests, overlooking the meadow with wonderful festoon lighting to enjoy sundowners during the summer evenings. There are also garden tables with additional seating on both the front and main lawns. The nearest pub is the lovely Crown Inn in Church Enstone, approximately 25 minutes walk away across the fields, 10 minutes walk along the road or 2 minutes drive. Soho Farmhouse is 5 minutes drive away or - if you are feeling adventurous - walkable cross country in about 50 minutes. Local taxis are also available. Chipping Norton, Woodstock and Blenheim Palace are all between 8 and 12 minutes drive away and the station at Charlbury is approximately 10 minutes drive away. We can put you in touch with babysitters on request. There is parking for 2 cars off road in the lay-by directly opposite the cottage. Please note that our home is located on a rural B road with a 40mph speed limit. The road is pretty quiet at night and at weekends, but it can be busier during rush hour and please be aware that local agricultural vehicles do use the road to access the surrounding farms. Guests will need to cross the road to get through the garden gate to reach the front door, but once through the gate, it is safe for children and dogs and they cannot get back out to the road. We offer a trust larder and simply ask that you leave a contribution towards anything you use and let us know if anything needs replenishing! Please note that our cottage is best suited to a maximum of four adults, three children and an infant. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for large groups of adults. Full use of the cottage, terrace and gardens. Please note that the meadows at the front and rear of the property are privately owned and not part of the cottage. There is off road parking for 2 cars in a lay-by directly opposite the cottage, next to the meadow. We live in London, but we are very available by phone, text or (Hidden by Airbnb) . Soho Farm House is a 50 minute walk across the fields, a 15 minute cycle or a 7 minute drive via the village of Great Tew and down the long drive to the main gate. The lovely local village pub, The Crown Inn in Church Enstone, is a 25 minute walk across the fields, a 10 minute walk along the road, or a 1 minute drive. We also highly recommend The Boxing Hare in Swerford for incredible food and The Bull in Charlbury for a lovely local atmosphere. The pretty town of Woodstock is 10 minutes drive away and Blenheim Palace is well worth a visit, with it’s magnificent hedge maze, formal rose gardens, adventure playground, lakes and incredible grounds. The local market town of Chipping Norton is also just a ten minute drive, with the most wonderful local butcher on the high street, traditional sweet shop and bakery, as well as larger supermarkets including a new M&S and Coop. Both Chipping Norton and Woodstock have public outdoor pools. Wilderness festival is also minutes away. The cottage is best accessed by car, with off road parking for two cars directly opposite the cottage. The closest station is Charlbury with fast trains direct from Paddington. The local taxi company is reliable and reasonable and it takes less than 10 minutes to drive to the cottage from Charlbury station. The water meadow behind the cottage is a nature reserve, with resident otters, nesting moorhens, red kites, pheasants and a multitude of interesting birds. Given the sensitivity of the reserve, there is no public access to the meadow, but there are two private lawns in the garden of the cottage. Please note that the bunk bed in the third bedroom is best suited for children as the headroom is limited, although each bunk has a full size single mattress, so can accommodate small adults on request. Please also note that the cottage is on a rural B road with a 40mph speed limit that is used by agricultural vehicles to access local farms. It can get a little busier during rush hour, but traffic is never constant and it is mostly quiet at night and non-peak hours. Off street parking for two cars is available directly opposite the cottage, just across the road. Access to the cottage and gardens are through a secure gate.
