Walk To The Beach From This Charming Cottage

Recently refurbished, Morris’s Cottage is nestled in the centre of one of North Norfolk’s loveliest villages, opposite gastropub ‘The Hero’, with nearby bus stop giving access to many coastal towns and villages and a short walk to the village playing fields with two hard tennis courts and well equipped playground. The harbour is just two minutes away with stunning walks out to the sea and ferry to Scolt Head Island where hours can be spent with a picnic in the dunes! The cottage has been furnished to a high standard having new Loaf beds and blended old and new furniture elsewhere to create a stylish interior over three floors. The linens in the cottage are of high quality to provide luxurious comfort after a long day’s Norfolk enjoyment! The top floor bedroom has views over the creek, marsh and out to the sea beyond. The creek is tidal and at low tide time can be spent on a mini-beach sitting watching or when the tide is high, taking part in the many activities - paddle boarding, crabbing, sailing, kayaking and ice-cream eating! Due to the locality and lack of any infant/child equipment/safety features the Cottage is unfortunately only available to over 12’s, and I’m afraid also not suitable for dogs/pets. Cosy in Winter with woodburner for chilled days and nights in watching the Smart 42’ TV or reading in comfortable seating in the sitting room. There are storage heaters throughout. Outside the front door is a seating area with table and chairs which enjoys the sun most of the day in the summer. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you will need to conjure up wonderful meals using the varied, seasonal local produce that can be purchased from Gurneys fish shop Burnham Market, Howells Butcher’s Burnham Market, Frary’s Wells-next-the-Sea, Drove Orchards at Thornham and Uttings for seasonal fruit and veg in Burnham Market … to name but a few! There are also wonderful farmer’s markets at Creake Abbey along with various shops selling local wares. Morris’s Cottage is situated in the perfect place to give you a very varied flavour of all that Norfolk has to offer. Nina Raisbury, who runs Morris’s Cottage day to day, is available at any time to show you around or advise you on anything you may want to know from booking restaurants to local sights that are worth seeing. Nina has lived in this part of the world all her life, growing up in Overy Staithe. Burnham Market, Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea are all within 5 miles of the Cottage which makes it a perfect location to explore this sought after area.
