The Woodlands House

The Woodlands House sits on five acres of an old growth private forest. The home itself is a beautiful 4 bedroom home with two outdoor decks surrounded by towering pine trees. It's the perfect place to get out of the city and disconnect in nature, or to use as your base for all the PNW adventures. It's a quick 30 min drive to Mount hood or the entrance to the Colombia Gorge, and only 45 min from PDX Airport. Our home is a restful and relaxing space. The home is filled with vaulted ceilings and a wood-burning stove on main level. We have furnished the home to feel like a mix of Scandinavian and Mid-Cenutry design, while at the same time having some fun and rustic cabin vibes. The large deck off the main level that overlooks a trickling stream, is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee and watch deer come to the water for a drink. The deck also features a large 6 person hot tub, that is perfect to soak your bones after a day of skiing or hiking. Guest will have access to the outdoor space behind the home, filled with trees and trails and a small trickling stream. No photo shoots or events of any kind allowed on the property without prior approval. There also is a chance that the 5 acre property could be shared with other guests, as there is another small cabin on the property, as well as a shop / grounds keeper quarters. Please respect their spaces. We live just about 45 minutes away, and will do our best to accommodate requests, but you should be pretty well setup without us coming out :) The neighborhood is tree-filled and very rural, so you probably wont see neighbors as every one pretty much keeps to them selves. There is a chance you could hear some neighbor kids playing, or here some farm work happening if the weather is nice, but the trees keep the home very private. Getting around is best if you have your own car or rent when flying in. An Uber from the airport is probably around $50, it just might be tricky going back via Uber. The Woodlands house is designed as a place to disconnect and relax, so keep in mind that cell phone service is limited on the property. There is a landline in the home that you are welcome to use, and there is wifi but the internet speed is pretty limited. Please keep the internet usage to a minimum. There is satellite TV with movie channels available in case you just want to cozy up and watch a movie. Absolutely no professional or commercial photo shoots allowed on the property. Because of the nature of the area, farm related noise it a possibility. This could include, tractor work, animal noises, or even discharging of fire arms.
