Artist's House

La Maison is a former village grocery store that periodically hosts artistic projects and artists from all over the world. A house full of beautiful stories. The apartment is on the 1st floor with an independent entrance. A garden and many paths (GR du Pays de l'Orvanne) and small roads are ideal for walks and bike rides. Shops and services are nearby and the supermarket is 7 km away. The house is managed by CourCommune, a non profit organisation. This atypical place is the work of many volunteers. The furniture was offered to us or was found in the area. The little hands cut and sewed the linen, the brilliant handymen renovated the apartment, a participative building site worked on the masonry and the shared garden came out of its wasteland last year. We are committed to making this place a place of rest but also a place of encounters and humanity. You have access to the entire accommodation, the large living room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom. Depending on the CourCommune's programming, you may share the workspace with the artists or workshops. See the association's agenda. The house and garden are located in the vicinity of the 12th century church, next to a park and the former municipal washhouse. In the main street, you will find fast food, a grocery store, good bakeries, the post office, a press shop, cafés, hairdressers, florist. A small market on Thursdays with excellent local products. A medical practice, nurses, physiotherapists. The countryside is accessible all around. A long-distance hiking trail passes in front of the house. Access by public transport is by train from Gare de Lyon (trains every hour during the week). A bus connects Montereau and Voulx station, in the morning and evening. Few frequencies, provincial atmosphere of the 50s! The route is already a visit to the countryside. You are one hour by train from Paris but here, the nights are silent. You are at the gates of Burgundy and less than an hour away, you can visit the Château de Fontainebleau, Vaux-le-Vicomte, Moret-sur-Loing and the villages of the valley, Le Cyclop in Milly-la-Forêt, Les Tanneries in Amilly...
