Small house right on the rocks! It's like being on a boat with a 180° view of the open sea. Salamina, far from the touristic crowds, is only 15' by ferry from Perama (Pireus, the port of Athens), and Peristeria is 20' further by car. Great beaches! You can stay in Peristeria and go to Athens at every hour because the ferries travel all the day every 20 minutes and in the night every 1 hour. Ideal to do holydays and to see Athens! Grandpa, artisan and barrel maker of Piraeus, built this little house on the rocks of the island of Salamis in the 50s. On the roof, overlooking the sea, he put a giant barrel-shaped room! The area of the village is affectionately called "Vareli", the barrel. It is a lovely little apartment clinging on the rocks; from the bedroom you will feel like floating on the sea, through the beautiful bow window of the living room. On the covered terrace you can enjoy wonderful outdoor dinners with views of the sea and of the small headland of Aghios Nikolaos. The house is all at your disposal, inside there is a small bathroom, the main bathroom is in an indipendent building next to the house. During the summer I will be available during the stay of the guests, a few minutes drive from the house. In other seasons I could delegate a relative. Closeby there are two beaches that are within walking distance, many others can be reached by car. The sea is beautiful and clean as it faces the open sea. On the beach in front of the house there is a bar, in the village nextby (about 2 km away) there is a minimarket. Life in Peristeria is quiet, you can fish, take walks in the woods, visit the Cave of Euripides, swim in lovely beaches and take small boat trips in the surrounding area. A few kilometers away there is a horse riding ground. The city of Salamis is 15 km away and has all the necessary services (supermarkets, pharmacies etc), as well as an archaeological museum and many cafes for nightlife. From Salamis city you can easily go by ferry to Piraeus Perama (15 '24h / 24), Athens, and the islands of the Saronic Gulf (Aegina, Poros, etc.). The car is recommended. You can park right outside the entrance of the house. There is also a bus service to and from Salamis, but is not very frequent. The accommodation is simple and geared to the essential, the kitchen is small, the living room as well, the bathroom is outside, but the spaces outside are magnificent. Ideal for a quiet and romantic holiday.
