This wonderful Passivhaus barn conversion sleeps 6 comfortably, and nestles in spacious gardens in the Usk Valley in the Brecon Beacons. 'The Cottage' is one of three separate dwellings in this 2016 barn conversion, with modern open-plan facilities, super-insulation + under-floor heating. Minutes from the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal, Sugarloaf, Table Mountain and other Brecon Beacons [visible from the barn and gardens]. The Cottage features: • generous open-plan kitchen/dining/living area • main bedroom with en-suite • 2 more double bedrooms • family bathroom, with bath and separate mixer shower • pantry + laundry +WC • private terrace areas front + rear • extensive gardens and orchard • on-site parkin (Website hidden by Airbnb) one or two dogs allowed - downstairs only, and always under contro (Website hidden by Airbnb) high chair and travel cot provided + Plus covid-cleaning for free. 'The Barn' next door also bookable [sleeps 6] - see separate listing... magical-spacious-brecon-beacons-eco-barn There is space for parking two cars at the road end of the property, marked "Cottage Parking". 2nd car should park closely behind the first, but more safe parking is available on the road. The key will be in the keysafe and we will give you the code before your arrival. This is a family owned and run property, and family members will be on site often. You will have exclusive use of all the inside space, and shared use of the extensive gardens. Perfect location for walking. It’s in the Brecon Beacons national park. Minutes from the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal - perfect for easy walking, cycling or boating. 10 mins drive from the market town of Abergavenny and 10 mins from the beautiful and award-winning Crickhowell. Black mountains are visible from the barn. There is a local shop, post office and pubs within walking distance in Gilwern village itself including a new pub called the towpath inn. There are a range of supermarkets and shops in Abergavenny, the closest is Waitrose about 5 mins back up the dual (take first exit and it’s off the round about and has a petrol station). Crickhowell won Britain’s best high street award in 2018 and is 10 mins from the barn in the opposite direction to Abergavenny. There are lovely local shops and really nice pubs. Our favourite is The Bear. Car or bikes essential but lots of walks from the barn to enjoy and bus links from village to near towns.
