The Cottage @VintageGreen hinterland farmstay

Perfect for couples wanting a romantic getaway, the cottage is beautifully styled with 2 comfy bedrooms and a luxury bathroom plus an extra toilet. Relax on the private porch overlooking a stunning and unique garden with views of the orchard. Outside the main bedroom you will find a free standing claw foot tub which is a blissful treat on a hot (or cold) day or evening. *Please note there may be guests staying nearby in one of our vintage caravans so you will not be completely isolated. A welcome basket of provisions (including farm fresh eggs from our girls and local sourdough bread) will be waiting on your arrival, along with a few essentials like butter, olive oil, milk, condiments etc, teas and a coffee machine. There is a bbq and a firepit to cook on outside however the cottage is equipped with a 2 ring induction hob and mini oven if you prefer to cook inside. Wake up to the sound of native birds and wander through the property to spot wallabies, koalas and hundreds of birds! Trek down to the creek and swim in the 6ft deep swimming hole when you need to cool off. There are lots of places to picnic on this 50 acre property so be prepared to do some exploring! The cottage is equipped with a smart TV with Netflix, built-in Chromecast, DVD player & bluetooth soundbar for entertainment on rainy days. We have a few classic DVDs in the collection! Please note we do not have air conditioning but there are ceiling fans and extra portable fans provided. For the cooler months there is a cosy wood burning heater in the lounge and a portable electric heater. PLEASE NOTE: Because of the devastating 2022 floods in the Lismore and surrounding towns, supplies may be harder to get, so we recommend stocking up on grocery items before you get here. Extra spaces: We have a beautiful 27ft Vintage Airstream and a 1958 Vintage Roadmaster on site nearby that may be used as an additional sleeping space. Please see separate listing if you are interested in booking these for extra accommodation. The caravans are situated out of sight of the cottage but there are shared garden spaces and interaction is optional. In saying that, the cottage is totally fenced and private. The property is a 50 acre custard apple orchard with a variety of other fruit trees and when they are in season you are welcome to pick whatever you wish! We live in the main house (near the road and away from the cottage) and my daughter and partner also live on the property. You may see us cruising around doing farm chores and the occasional lawn mowing duties, but it won't be intrusive and please feel free to say hi! We value the peace and quiet that this beautiful location brings and want you to have a tranquil and quiet stay, so we will leave you alone to enjoy it. However if you need anything we can be contacted by mobile during daylight hours. Ideally located between Lismore and Nimbin in the NSW Northern hinterland we are roughly an hour from Ballina Airport and likewise from the buzzing beachside town of Byron Bay. Please note that the roads may be very damaged from the recent floods so please take care. Escape the crowds and enjoy the peace and tranquility of Vintage Green, a little piece of paradise. Nearby attractions include the stunning geology of Nimbin Rocks, The Channon Craft Market, the hippy hub of Nimbin town and stunning national parks and waterfalls (see our guide) The Eltham pub is only half an hour away and the food is highly recommended. All this with Ballina airport, an easy and picturesque drive away. It is pretty essential that you have a car to access the many attractions in the area.
