Gilge Getaway Chalet and Organic Farm.

Situated in a secluded valley adjoining the Lowlands Reserve the chalet offers privacy, peace and tranquility. There is a wide variety of flora and fauna to see with kangaroos in the area and an abundance of birdlife. During spring wildflowers come in to bloom casting a brilliant blanket of colour over the landscape. The cathedral ceiling and use of many windows gives the chalet a light and bright holiday feel. The large glass sliding doors offers views of the garden, valley and coastal dunes beyond and leads on to the covered outside area with a gas barbeque, outdoor wood heater and table setting. Fill up the birth bath in the garden and enjoy the spectacle of the birds coming and going for a refreshing dip. Being a farm with areas set aside for cattle, an organic vegetable garden and orchard that we tend to, means we are around most of the time and happy to show you around. Lowlands Beach is only a 10 minute drive away and offers swimming, fishing and with it's lookouts on top of the limestone cliffs and sand dunes is well worth a visit. The top lookout reveals the layout of the beach showing the granite rocks jutting out in to the Southern Ocean where rock pools host small marine life. There are other beaches to visit and the Bibbulmun Track runs right along the coast, passing close by the chalet and through the rugged West Cape Howe National park. Other bush walking tracks take you up through the coastal dunes to limestone cliffs, revealing spectacular views of the Lowlands area along the way. The nearby Mundabiddi Trail will take the offroad cyclist through the surrounding countryside to places not otherwise accessable Our location is about half an hours drive from Albany to the east and Denmark to the west and the area offers many wineries, breweries and other attractions.
