The Bungalow Werri Beach NSW
The Bungalow - where the mountains meet the sea.
A private and comfortable stand alone guest house is situated at the front of our property. Newly fitted out and furnished is a guest studio for 2 people. The dwelling consists of a Bali-inspired spacious open plan living/dining/kitchenette and bathroom downstairs and a large comfortable and cosy bedroom upstairs. All the amenities you need are provided. The kitchen area has a microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, kitchen sink, crockery and cutlery and full size fridge. There is a lovely little dining area and the living area has a big and comfy day bed to sit back and watch TV or DVDs, or listen to music or just relax. The bedroom is a large area upstairs, private and comfortable with views to the escarpment in the north and across the adjacent park in the south. There is also a TV with DVD player. The region is known for its pristine beaches, where the mountains meet the sea, wineries, dairy farms, cafes and restaurants so there is no shortage of places to visit and experiences to keep you busy or just sit back and relax, the choice is all yours. The Bungalow is next door to a park and only 120 metres to the rolling waves on Werri Beach. Take your towel, hat and suncream and spend some time enjoying the serenity of beautiful Werri Beach. Or walk along the beach to the south end and have a swim in the rock pool. Another popular swimming location within walking distance or less than a 5 minute drive is Boat Harbour. On the way there stop at the whale watching platform for a great view, especially if the whales are passing on their migration. And yet a bit further south is beautiful Gerroa, 7 Mile Beach, renowned for wind surfing and paddle boarding. Our property is at the southern end of the picturesque coastal walk from Gerringong through Kiama to Minnamurra. Just a 3 minute walk to the North end of Werri Beach and the 22 km track begins, or just 6 km to Kiama Heights or 10 kms to Kiama town centre. This newest part of the Kiama Coast Walk (opened late 2009) is also the most untouched, as you follow a zig-zag of coastal pastures north from Werri Beach to Kiama Heights. Your occasional partner on this journey is the South Coast railway, appearing and disappearing into tunnels carved more than 120 years ago. It is here, amongst the exposed clifftops, rainforest remnants and endless ocean views, that the weather can play a factor – so be prepared for all possibilities. Kilometre markers inform your progress, while the Illawarra Escarpment gently tumbles into the sea before your very eyes. Along the way, it’s possible to feel miles from civilisation. You can walk a little or the entire track and return home by train. The township of Gerringong has some very interesting shops selling homewares and crafts and the well known Natural Necessity Surf shop and vegan cafe, Perfect Break, definitely worth a visit. Gerringong has great shops, cafes and restaurants and plenty to keep you occupied. Bike path alongside the beach. Picturesque coastal walk on your doorstep. Nearby tennis courts and skate park.
