Come and stay in our Grade 2 listed Farmhouse. If you love dogs and don't mind a bit of traffic noise, read on. We are situated just outside the beautiful Saxon village of Cricklade. On offer is self-contained accomodation, with a large shared garden, in which further guests are welcome to camp as well as a private garden. Inside, two bedrooms are available: a double and a twin. There is a living room and separate dining room. Well behaved pets welcome on the ground floor only. Due to the modern access road, our house is “back to front” – from the car park, you have to walk through the shared walled garden to get to your private garden and the front door! Don’t worry, we will provide detailed directions. We have two bedrooms available for guests, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. We can provide 2 cots for our younger guests, and you are welcome to pitch a tent or two in the either garden. Our kitchen is stocked with the basics. Meals can be eaten at the large table in the dining room, which will seat 8 people. Included is a help yourself continental-style breakfast. Milk, tea, coffee, and squash are also provided. In addition to a carpark, we have two secure gardens for our guests use. The shared walled garden is accessed off the carpark, and features a wooden, free standing “garden room” for exclusive use of our guests. This is a great place to help yourself to a book, board game or dvd, play some games on the x-box, or just relax and enjoy the garden. If you have brought bikes, we can put a tarp down for you to store them here out of the elements. We have 2 (slightly rickety!) adult bikes available if you are brave enough. If the weather is dry, guests are welcome to do some stargazing – we are very lucky to have low light pollution, so as the sun goes down, the stars come out on a clear night. The second garden is smaller and has an outdoor dining set and a bbq if you fancy dining alfresco. We do have dogs – they are not allowed upstairs and do not bite, but do like to introduce themselves to guests by barking!! If you are not up for some pupper-doggo interactions, just let us know and we will keep them completly out of your way. The dogs have a separate outside area to guests, which guest pets are also welcome to share. You will be able to access: Extensive outside space including: the shared car park the shared walled garden including exclusive use of our wooden garden room ( this has a tv, x-box and various books, games and dvds for the use of guests.) This space can also be used for storing bikes or store your luggage. the cherry tree garden (exclusive guest use) the dog garden: a small secured portion of the garden just for pets. Please do clear up after your pets, disposing of any waste in the bins provided. If you need poo bags, just ask! Generous inside space including: Your bedrooms Kitchen (including washing machine and tumble dryer) Shower-room Dining room - with inglenook fireplace, dining table seating 8 and a small sofa Living room - with wood burning stove, two large sofas and a tv with Netflix and Sky TV At the weekends, we can be around as much or as little as you would like us to be. During the week we work full time, but are always available to answer questions via text and our friendly neighbours will step in if needed. From help to open the sash windows, to a firmer pillow for your comfort, we are really keen for you to have as pleasant a stay as possible. If there is any way we can help, please just let us know. Otherwise, we will give you as much space and privacy as possible. We are situated near very beautiful countryside, perfect for long walks or bike rides. Cricklade has several eateries, or feel free to make the most of the kitchen, dining room or BBQ for any meals. We are a short drive away from the Cotswolds, Cirencester or Swindon. We are at the end of an access road - think cattle grids and no street lighting. Your own transport would be a big advantage, be that a car or bike. We have ample off street parking and can store bikes. There is significant traffic noise from the A419. The house is very old, so we have our fair share of lumpy walls and creaky floorboards. As the house is listed, we do not have double glazing - the windows are mainly sash with very thin glass. Young children will need to be supervised closely. We live in the hamlet of Calcutt, the nearest village is Cricklade. We would really recommend bikes or cars to get around!
