Vranjina is an old tourism fishermen’s village, located between the Capital City of Montenegro, Podgorica, and the first town on the Adriatic coast. Vranjina was originally an island, which, after the main road on the coast was built, became one of the most attractive ancient urban settlements at the Skadar Lake National Park, the largest one in the Balkans. The lake has a plenty of islands and peninsulas, spiritual and religious facilities, as well as cultural and historical monuments. It is also a habitat for around 39 fish species and about 280 bird species. Skadarsko Lake’s symbol is a pelican, the protected and endangered species. Attractive tourist vacation in Vranjina can be fulfilled with lake cruising. You can also rent a kayak, go fishing, hiking or even swimming. It takes some 30 minutes to get from Podgorica to the lake and some 20 minutes to the Montenegrin Coast, which makes this site an ideal starting point to the south or the central part of Montenegro. In addition, this Crmnica region is specific for its geo-location, extremely suitable for wine production, dating back to centuries ago. There are producers owning small wineries with excellent wine sorts.
