Relax, unwind & refresh your senses at ASC as you awake to ocean views & the sound of Tui & other native birds singing in the trees. Here at ASC you have the perfect location for exploring New Plymouth, a city at the heart of the Taranaki region. We are very proud that renowned travel authority Lonely Planet has chosen Taranaki as one of the best regions in the world to visit! ASC has the feel of a traditional seaside Bach but with all the modern amenities. With sunny patios and awesome views of the ocean we are located on a very quiet, no exit street with off street parking and are literally a stones throw away from New Plymouth’s famous coastal walkway where you can access the beach and a children’s playground. From our gardens on a clear day you’ll have amazing views of the mighty Mount Taranaki. We grow many of our own fruits & vegetables, and you are welcome to have a forage & help yourself. We also keep chickens that children are welcome to help us feed. We have two adult bikes, helmets etc for use by guests, boogie boards for the kids and heaps of local maps, guides and what’s on info. Paris Plage is a popular open air cafe by the sea just a few minutes walk away. Open over summer it’s the perfect place to relax with a coffee & a pain au chocolat or maybe a glass of wine or beer. On Sunday afternoons they have live music. Along the walkway we’re 30 mins walk from the iconic Te Rewa Rewa bridge in one direction and 25 mins walk from the city centre in the other where you’ll find renowned attractions which include Govett-Brewster / Len Lye Art Gallery, Wind Wand, Pukekura Park & Brooklands Bowl (home of WOMAD), Puke Ariki Museum & Library and a whole variety of excellent places to eat & drink. We have a master bedroom with double bed and the second bedroom has 2 single beds. The living room area has tv & DVD player, a small library, dining table seating 4, sofa and a desk. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking a family meal and like the bathroom has only recently been fitted. The bathroom has both a bath and a shower and the wc is in a separate room. The laundry contains both a washing machine & a tumble dryer. ASC is perfect for families & kids, couples, solo travellers or business people working in the city, we provide free Wi-Fi and we can sleep up to 5. (Up to 10 people if we include the other airbnbs on the same street. Just send us a message to enquire.) We live in the house next door and are available to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible with local tips, advice and a friendly chat. * Oh by the way did you know the Tui has two voice boxes, has a parrot like ability to imitate human speech (they were trained by Maori to do this) and will sing at night especially around the time of the full moon! The house will be left open with keys on table with a basic info note. But we are only next door so yell out once you arrive. A welcome is always here, we are only next door (mostly) for information or anything else that is needed. Our neighborhood is a quiet old fashioned street, very friendly and everybody gets along and looks after one another. Bikes are in the shed and the coastal walkway is only a stones throw away. It is a 15 minute walk into town by the main road or 25 minutes by the coastal walkway A railway line passes by the house but is a very quite line with no more than 5 trains a day all passing by before 5pm.
